Orange Gallardo
Discussion
Hey guy's, i have been shopping around for an early model Gallardo, possibly 04/54. I have been speaking to Dom at Lambo Birmingham in regards to the orange vehicle they have. It has 3 owners, is this a problem? Is this car priced a little on the high side, what should i be offering without offending??? I've seen similar models at around £80-85K but have really grown on this colour!
One last thing he told is that it has a transparent engine cover, does this add value? Anyone have an idea what this cost as an extra? I would much appreciate your help folks!

Hi,
The price seems right for a 54 plate. I'd be very surprised if you get anything of the price at all. There seems to be a real shortage of good cars at present and that is keeping prices steady.Dealers know this and that obviously reflects in the deal you get.
As for the clutch issues all the early cars did have clutch issues of one sort or another but most cars by now have had the replacement clutch done. Just ask the dealer what revision the clutch is. If its C or greater you'll be fine.
Andy.

- and that trans. engine cover would have been a +++ cost option when the car was new and they are becoming increasingly the cool choice...
Does the car grab you and say, "you want me, you have to have me..." - if so, that's YOUR Lamborghini talking to you, you almost can't NOT buy it!
Good luck whatever you decide and welcome to the (arancio coloured ) dark side (eh?) and remember to join LCUK as soon as you can - there done my Clubby bit for this hour!!

Brilliant, just seems a little high priced for an 04, its so difficult to find this colour. furthermore i read a thread on one member having his engine replaced on an early gallardo, so seeing as this has only done close to 7K miles its a pretty scary thought not knowing what the future holds!!!!!!

That was my car. There was no real issue with the engine only excessive oil consumption. As it was still under warranty I got it rectified sooner, rather than later. There has been a problem on a few of the very early cars with excessive oil consumption, yours may or may not develop that problem. As for what the future holds, if we knew what was going to happen to our cars we'd never buy them. I think if you really, really want it then you should just buy it and to hell with the consequences. As for the glass engine lid, I personally dont like them but its each to his own I guess.

Had a look at your "easylambo" - and price is probably about right.
the glass engine cover is c5,000 extra - few early cars seem to have the option so always a nice touch, the car has sat nav as well which is another tick on an early car and arancio cars are relatively rarer than giallo, nero and grigio altair (silver) cars so that gives it another little push. But the big reason for the price imho is the 6,600 miles on the clock. thats 2,200 miles a year - i've seen 6 month old G's with that kind of mileage so based on spec and mileage i would say 94.5 was on the money from a main agent, that said, depends how much you are prepared to be patient and push your luck. lambo brum had a 06 g in for about 3 months and knocked the price down by 2K, it sat around about another month then sold. so they do have good margin, how much they are prepared to give away usually depends on how long the car sits around but the last 3 arancio cars i have seen for sale have all gone in about 3-4 weeks max so if you are set on a easylambo coloured car then i would bag the first good one you see. good luck.

a small prize of practically no value will be given to the first person who says (and can prove it!) "well, he would say that!"...
but, as ever, JOIN LCUK - you know you want to almost as much as you know you want that car!
Just count yourself lucky that Crikey Mikey is off and away to Italy for the next few days or else he'd probably have given you emails to read every hour... we ain't called the (arancio / giallo / / verde ithaca / etc etc) coloured dark side for now't!
atb and just go for it fella!!
