I was definitely going for a manual.. but..

Can you give me your opinions on which you think is better and longevity of the clutch?

Ta for any insight.

Just to make matters more confusing for you...
Im sure there are several companies (I know one in the states) that make much much better clutches for the Gallardo because those are outputting near 850Bhp.

Why dont you look into an uprated clutch ?
I dont understand why people dont do this more often, or is it because of warrenty ?
If it was going to cost me each time to fix, I'd put a proper one in it in the first place biggrin

This may be an od one, but does anyone know if it's possible to convert a manual to e-gear? I'm thinking the chassis may be different thus ruling it out.

Proper drivers always go for the Manual!!

(Thats it I've started the arguement again!!)

I guess its down to personal choice, both do the job. Just for me a proper car has to have a stick.

Andy.

Driven properly both cars will have no issues with the clutch.

... all you manual gearchange Gallardo folk may know full well that Crickyeal Mickyeal (eh?), the mighty guardian of the e-gear driver's interests is currently 'avin' it large, (as you young folk seem to like to say), travelling down to Sant' Agata and so will not be able to give you his very reasoned and reasonable opinions, much less his unreasoned and unreasonable ones on the subject of flappy sticks and/or flappy other things etc etc...

You'll all be very pleased to hear that Neo has been filtering a few images taken on the road and at a number of interesting looking hotels via the internette, although lacking any actual location information to go with them, the travelling mob may all have got lost and be heading for Bulgaria or perhaps the Ukraine, you know what Mike's like...

Wonder if he's clipped (m)any continental kerbs - yet ????

The manual box in the G is one of its plus points: easy on the clutch and enjoy.

Having never owned a flappy paddle shift before (on a couple of fezzas) I'm actually quite impressed with my e-gear over the manual, but as everyone else says - everyone to his or her own, I don't think you'll go wrong with either!

I'm on my second G with E-gear. I tried a manual but didn't like it as much although the stick looks great.

Mind you, the e-gear is nowhere near as good as the F430's F1 (only the G's downshift blip is better smile)

You'll keep, Doug! laugh

In answer to the question, there's no right or wrong. There's just 'different'.

It's reasonable to assume that most of us with E-gear have been brought up on manuals and it's unlikely any of us struggled. So paddleshifts must have a hidden trick. It's down to whether you can be bothered to find it.

Both are fun.

Ofcourse, if you go for the manual you can take pleasure in having the moral high-ground... apparently. laugh

You knows. You might start to think manually operated windows have an inherent advantage over them new-fangled 'leccy ones. biggrin

Each to his own, but keep an open mind. wink
