Hi guys,

I am pretty much a newbie on this site. I am looking at buying a Gallardo in the near future and have a few questions:

a) Servicing costs and intervals?

b) How long can you expect the clutch to last with normal driving?

c) What mods, if any, do lambo owners do?

d) Are there many niggles that need dealership attention?

e) How long does the manufacturers warranty last?

f) egear or manual? )

g) Does the gallardo come in green as I've not seen one?

h) How much can I expect a £90k 54 plate depreciate in 2 years?

i know a lot of these question may have been asked and answered before but I would love some fresh input having spent 2 hours reading old threads!

TIA

Liam

Hi Liam....

I'm no expert but I'll give you the few pointers I have. I'm sure there will be lots more experienced drivers along shortly to point you in the correct direction.

a) Not 100% sure but I believe yearly, not sure on cost, yet to do one estimate £2k a time?

b) Alot of people on here have got very good use out of their clutch I belive V-Neo has covered inexcess of 20K and CrikeySimon inexcess of 10K with no issues.

c)If you buy pre 06, tend to be exhaust, callisto rims, clear side indictors, maybe carbon fibre - haven't heard of many more to be honest. If it's an 06 or later leave it alone it's perfect lol only playing.

d) couldn't answer that

e) 3 years on a UK car 2 on an import

f) down to individual choice, drive both and see. Think E-gear are more desirable though from what I can gather.

g) I believe it does - but could be wrong

h) Never been any good at working things like that out

i)

Well, I have been looking at those as well! But I think its starting to look a bit dated now. Plus most of the 360 Vs G threads i read last night were pro G.

Go on, what probs have you had with your clutch?smash

Yes I don't think the 360 looks anywhere near as good as a G.

I've never driven a 360 but if I were going to buy a Ferrari I would be looking at a 430, which appears to be more closely matched with the G.

Lol don't ask but it is sorted now....

Whooooooaaaaaahhhhh there!!!

Thats just burst my bubble of enthusiasm!!!! That clutch issue sounds well dodgy to me! To be fair the thought of buying a Gallardo that I couldn't launch from the lights is very off putting. Whats the point in having one that you have to drive like a pensioner? I understand that it may wear very quickly and would not be put off if I knew it was going to last at least 8000 miles, but some of the mileages in that thread are obsurdly low. I don't want to have to mollycoddle the car. Its a SUPERCAR! Its supposed to be driven hard surely.....................

Hmmmmm

By a manual - no problems with launch.

The question is, do i let this put me off the Gallardo totally? Surely these incidents only make up a small percentage of owners? Surely there are hundreds of Gallardo's out there that have got 10k+ from their clutches????

The concerning thing is that there seems to be no consistency in the failured clutch mileages. There also seems to be no hard fast solution to it. If I thought gunning it off the line was the sole cause then its easily avoided but others seem to have had failurea with non spirited driving. Does the 360 suffer from the same sort of problems or is it a lambo specific problem?

35,000 miles covered in my egear now on one clutch, for answers to the others questions I'd do a quick search, all the questions have been answered before.

Praise the lord!! Someone with some reassuring figures!! 35k is awesome to be fair. Do you drive it sedately or do you give it some spirit periodically? Is the whole 'You can't launch it off the lights' true for your car or not???

Mine is a manual, and you cannot launch the car at all! Don't even try!!!

To be honest I really do love my car and I mean..... really love it lol I think it's such a great machine. Don't buy a 360 you'll only be jealous when you see me whizzing past you laugh

I honestly don't know what to think about the clutch, all I would say is take it really, really easy in first and second and NO it is not designed to be driven fast off the line....

Has anyone on here had a clutch last longer than 10k who have used there car how it should of been designed to?

How exactly would you come whizzing past me in a 360 when your still idling off the line doing 20 in 1st gear?????laugh

The thing is, I want the G not the 360. But I want to be able to drive it not mollycoddle it. I would even be that fussed about it if it wasn't £4k a pop!!!

No comparison between 360 & G, different cars, different leagues, but if you feel you have to burn everyone off at the lights and you think anytime you set off slowly equates to driving like a grandad then you need to look at totally different cars, the 360 is not without it's issues either.

Buy a Saxo, they're clutches last forever biggrin

Get a 360, enjoy it then upgrade...

I'm not saying I actually would or do 'burn everyone off at the lights' but I'd like to think that when I'm in 1st or 2nd gears that if I need to blip the throttle I don't have to think' shit that just cost me £4k!!'
