Just thought i'd say hello .. despite the user name, just got a black 04 Gallardo. Beautiful car, even better noise and i don't care what the running costs will be (unlike my wife). Only gripes are the lack of decent footrest, which helps at 6'3" and the crap stereo, but i guess you will all tell me to turn it off and listen to the car. Any useful advice from the experts ?

does ur car have sat nav??
if not buy a pioneer avic d3bt head unit and replace the crappy audi stereo..
it cost me £1500 all in and i got upgraded stereo, cd, dvd, sat nav, bluetooth, divx, mp3, and rear reversing camera!!! kept the same speakers
the company who done it made me cutsom made fascia from the same leather as the car and the install looks factory fitted,,, u can even choose ur own screen saver which is of course a lambo badge making it look all the more factory!!!

Congrats on the car Jules, you will love it.

The non Sat Nav stereo is pants I agree. Fortunately I have the Sat Nav stereo which is perfectly fine, but the speakers REALLY are crap! I cannot believe that a manufacturer selling £130k+ cars uses speakers that are essentially a cardboard diaphragm! (my local ICE installer could hardly contain himself when he first checked out what was behind the grills)

i bought the system off a company called audio 66 on the web.. rrp was £1499.99 but they do it for £950.. the guy who made the fascia and fitted it does alot of custom work for fast car and max power so knows his stuff...
the company is called sound and secure based in croydon.....
however there is another company in wandsworth called sextons but they are a little more expensive.
hope that helps

Congrats, Jules. Pics please.

If you toggle the display using the button on the underside of the wiper arm, you should be able to clear the icons.

I had the low washer fluid one on during our trip to the factory. Had me entertained for several miles before I worked out what the hell it was. :laugh. Washer bottle capacity is about 6 litres, which is a lot, even with the power washers.

if it was Saturday before last, yes that was probably me ... nice narrow street.. the 355 used to sound great down there, so i thought i'd test out the Gallardo .. not disappointed !

Thanks. All ok right now as it came back from a service this afternoon where they filled the washer fluid up... i wonder what they charged me for 5 litres of water ??
Forgive my ignorance Mike, i'm new to PH ... are you something to do with EVO ?

well done and congratulations for not giving a sh1t how much the running costs are. the costs are what the costs are, and, touch wood, we all hope not to high. Too many posts on here of late worrying about this. On the wrong road the gallardo can be a poor car (ie not a great commuting vehicle methinks). On the right road pure magic. Doubts? Try the "open road" where one can see for miles and experience the benefit of a power overload. Windows dropped one inch always helps with the aural pleasure.

Absolutely right .. was delivered to my office in the City yesterday and had a most unpleasant commute home. Then got near my house where there is almost a mile of straight, wide country lane. I won't mention velocity attained in case our Friends in Blue read these pages, but the acceleration reminded me of the Star Trek films, when they go into warp drive.
