Gallardo & speed humps
Discussion
Hi guys,
I'm considering getting a Gallardo for about 6 months before I eventually have to buy a house. I live in south London and the area is plauged with speed humps. How much are a problem are these for early (04) models? Last thing I'd want to do is spend 80k and not be able to drive it to my house!
Anyone know anything about this car: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/181328.htm (apart from the fact it looks gorgeous!)
Cheers!

Know what you mean about the speedhumps in South London. It's what puts me off owning a proper supercar (that, and the fact my money is all tied up in the house now - I wish I'd approached it like you and bought something for a few months before buying a house... never thought about it).
Perhaps you can find someone with a Gallardo and get them to drive to your house. If you hear a scraping noise in the distance and loud swearing, you'll know not to get one.

You should be fine with speed bumps - I drive mine around Chelsea/Wandsworth/Putney all the time
Clearly don't brake just before you reach them and approach really high ones at an angle
Anyway even if you do bottom out it doesn't do any damage on the Gallardo- unlike the F430
One problem area you can get is when you go down a steep hill which immediately goes flat
The worst damage I've done to my Ferrari was coming out of the Waitrose car park in Esher
With the Gallardo I once managed to jam the car coming out of the Putney shopping centre car park

I think the Gallardo is a touch higher off the ground than the Murcie (at least it looks that way in photos) and to my surprise the Murcielago glides over speedbumps at a low speed with no problems at all..... and that is even with the suspension lift in the lower setting. I wasnt expected that at all.
Traxx, Does the Gallardo also have the suspension lift?
