Hi fellas. I had a break in at my house a few weeks back - and I thought the scumbags got scared by the alarm and only managed to grab a few unimportant items.

I just realised this morning, that they have taken ALL of the paperwork for my Ferrari 550 which was left in the room which they entered. All service history, old MOTs, old receipts, V5, manual, everything in the wallet, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas if things like the Service History Book are replaceable, without severely damaging the value of the car?

Many thanks for any suggestions or useful contacts.

Kind regards,

Joel K

Hi there Joel

This is a terrible thing to happen but all is not lost yet.

Less importantly, Ferrari manuals, service books, wallets, literature etc can be repurchased either from Ferrari themselves, other Ferrari specialists or even Ebay. The V5 can simply be re-issued.

With regard to service history stamps and reports, these services/ works undertaken etc are normally stored on computer databases of most reputable service agents and can be simply be reprinted for you. I take it that the car is not that old and therefore the service history should be relatively easy to trace back. With regard to MOT's, I am actually not sure what the procedure is, but can guarantee someone else here will know.

The previous owner of my Lambo was able to go back to Lamborghini London and get some very old service history receipts from their central database. As far as I know, they didnt even charge him.

I wish you every success with this and would be quite confident that with a bit of work, you can get things back as they were before this awful incident.

Many thanks

Daniel

You can get a duplicate quite easily. When the certs were hand written, you used to go back to the supplying garage. Now I think you go through VOSA.

Now they've got the documents you need to be very very careful they don't come back for your car mate, hide the keys etc. I'm sure it was just an opportunist thing but you can never be too careful.
