Someone on the Maserati forum has just run an HPI check and it comes back fine. Doesn't mean that the number plate isn't ringed though.

The scam works like this, Take an existing (genuine) add, register a new name and paypal account, cut and paste to the new registered account and hope someone is dumb enough to hit buy it now and pays with paypal or bank transfer.
They don't even own the car that would make them too traceable by the reg number
