Hi guys and gals,

Got fed up waiting for the awful weather and made the 100 mile haul down to Lamborghini Brum yesterday to buy my dream gallardo.

Jaw dropped, love at first sight. completely smitten, having spent 1 year hunting for my perfect G i have finally found the lambo love of my life.

Anyway, the car needs a new set of paws, so they have ordered a set of tyres before i can test drive her.

I have a couple of questions (Lamborghini owners comments would appreciated, no offence to Mickken and his pals but Bitter ex owners with alterior motives are not helpful)>

I think the car is on its original clutch, and it felt quite heavy to depress compared to the 06 3K car i drove last year, they said they would check the clutch as they think it could be due, my question is at what percent point of wear would you demand they fit a new clutch if you were buying a G from a main agent and paying full retail?

Second question, they are obviously fitted 4 fresh tyres which is nice, but the service they told me is due in September or 2.5K miles. BUying a non-exotic i would expect any car with less than 3 months or 3K to the service interval to have its service done before purchase without further negotiation. So my question is if you were buying a lambo from a main agent with its service due in under 3K and 3 months would you expect them to service it before you bought it? and if they don't how much is a annual service likely to cost? (rough cost without extras)

They haven't mentioned if they will do the service or not, so would you expect to have to negoiate to get it done as part of the deal?

all help appreciated, not dealt with the dealer before so not sure how good a deal they cut as standard.

Hi,
I'm sure there are ppl on here that have more experience then me at the kind of deal they will do for you. But personally i think they should replace the clutch, and do the service. My clutch got very heavy just before it started to slip etc, the new one was remarkable light in comparison!!! I thought the whole idea of paying retail money for a car from the main agent is that you have nothing to worry about for 12 months or so??
Anyway good luck! Hope it all goes welldriving

Hi.. bought my Gallardo from there and they gave me a free service voucher which would be used at my leisure... the clutch was changed a few weeks earlier and new rear tyres.. so no complaints....

No it wasn't the orange one, that was parked up out back in the compound so i think its been sold.

Thanks Nick, that was the sort of info i was looking for - if i can get them to give me a voucher for the service i'll be happy.

Saw the Verde ithaca spyder (now sold) while i was in there. looks stunning, also a very nice white spyder with white leather - very miami vice in there, i decided to abandon my convertible plans since its not stopped raining in a ruddy month.

Its me thats bought the orange one, being delivered tomorrow. Again that cars service isnt due whilst october so will do it for free then (major service). If you are financing the car make sure you phone around different brokers, as i first had been quoted by lambo but after several further calls for comparison i was proposed a great deal.

Shall we say that I was relatively happy with the price I received after watching what 56 plate cars have been trading at. I phoned around a couple of dealers and a couple of independents and Dominic at Birmingham was right on the money. To be honest I've enjoyed a very good relationship with this dealer thus far and that counts a lot in the long run. I'd highly recommend them.

Glad to hear they looked after you, I did a similar thing with a much cheaper car once but it cost me tooo much..... :-(

Do you use your G as a daily driver?

Not exactly..... I'm ashamed to say I've only done around 1000 miles in my coupe which is a tragic waste but was dictated by a busy schedule which meant I didn't get the free time to use it as much as I'd hoped. It's not a mistake I'll repeat with the spyder though as my circumstances have changed considerably wink

Yep, that's the one. It's the spyder twin of my coupe in terms of colour inside and out.

You live in UK I assume? Do you think you'll get sufficient use out of the spyder??

Let us know what the drive is like in the spyder compared to the coupe and whether you can notice any handling differences?

I would certainly hope so. The Green brigade insits that if we continue to buy big engined 4WDs, the weather would get better.....i think they will find we have upheld our end of the bargain ...
