demographics of a ferrari/lambo/maser owner
Discussion
my first post
what are the demographics of a ferrari/lambo/maser owner especially when buying new?- of course they're all petrolheads and v rich - but are they similar? i would reckon a generally high average age for all 45plus?
noticed that lambos are in more lary colours- something ferrari never do - despite being very similar cars
intresting to see what others think

I really, really betcha they ain't!
demog. for this (ancient) Lambo owner now just (more ancient) 45 and a half and I made barely £1.23 last year and hope to better that by some 37p this year - mind you, haven't quite put my order in for a Murciélago SV just yet, not quite this week
ps welcome to PistonHeads!

Demographics are always a difficult one especially without any hard facts....
I didn't buy new so don't know if I qualify but I'm 27 and have a Lambo and someone I know also recently bought one and he is 25.
I would say the mean age has come down considerably in the last ten years or so, especially with more "young" people making it in business etc.
Plus you have alot of footballers (or sports people) etc buying these cars so I would guess for either marque the avg age would be approaching mid 30's
This is just a guesstimate

I'd say it's very difficult to generalise about Lambo demographics. There doesn't appear to be a hard and fast rule (other than that we like our cars hard and fast
).
I've learnt never to ask someone's age or occupation. Both are irrelevant and often lead to false assumptions.
I'm feeling a bit 'Zen' today... obviously.

I always got the impression that most Lambo owners are down to earth petrol heads whereas Ferrari like Porsche attracts a larger share of the "Got a big bonus this year what's the car I'm supposed to have?" City boys. I work in the City & can vouch for the number of guys who buy 911 tips based purely on the colour! They spendd the summer months with their shades on driving past shop windows so that they can see their own reflection!

Really?I've had a fist full of both Lambos and Ferrari's. Guess that makes me an old git and a city boy.....
Hell - I work hard - and just like cars.
But I do have an extensive sunglass collection!

If it helps, I'm a 61 year old bald guy about 21.5 stone, about to undergo the first stage of my sex change op.
I was a priest up until about 2 years ago but got caught. I've now started an internet dating agency for transsexuals and am earning enough to fund my passion for Italian cars and whippet racing.
As I say, hope this doesn't skew your statistics too much

I read a study a few months ago about this. I think it was from a legit source. Said the average age of a Porsche 911 owner is between 55-65 with an average annual income of $300,000 or more. Sounds about right. Though, I thought the annual income was maybe a little high. But must be the reality.
Am curious about the average age of a Lambo/Ferrari owner too. But the only way to know is to talk t a Lambo/Ferrari sales person.
Of course this means they are talking about people to made their own money and weren't given their cars from their parents. Or came into some money through a hefty inheritance and such. Which explains why the average age of a 911 owner is what was mentioned And said these men usually held jobs like "chief of surgery" or are some other medical specialist (e.g. plastic surgeon). Probably a few "entertainment lawyers", investment bankers...etc. As their incomes typically are around $300k+.
Also, I think they were implying these people guy their cars upfront. No payments. Otherwise they should have been able to buy the cars maybe in their late 30's or 40's already. If it only meant affording the downpayment and keeping up with the monthly payments.
