I've been told over the past 12 months by various people to have the rear diff. additive modification done, and always thought yeah, when I can be bothered - Now it’s done, I wish I'd taken friends advice a year ago.
Makes such a difference to smooth gear changes by removing the thump from the drive shaft / rear diff - which I normally notice when just travelling in traffic and slowly slowing down then changing down gear.

Feels like I've been given a new car back.

I was also surprised to be told I have 2mm left on the clutch after covering 35,000 miles, not bad since a new clutch is 5.6mm

Simon

Martin, In that case, best cheap(ish) changes you can make are:

Sports air filters - I think about £50, you can fit them yourself, standard on 06 and above, but you notice a nicer induction noise if you change these.

The rear diff change really makes a huge difference, in traffic the car feels so much more smoother, not sure on the cost since it was rolled up in my service bill, but no expensive

I just had the car serviced at Birmingham,

Enjoy!

Saw your car at Lambo mate! How much did they charge you for your service? Curious as mine will serviced there? How much extra was the diff mod?

Good question, I had quite a bit of additional work done, brakes drilled, egear system drained and fluid replaced, with the egear given an overhaul and a few hours spent given the car some loving care. Well I have done 38K and it lives outside all the time, so gets a hard life.

Lets just say,, I was happy to pay the bill since the car as never felt so good or driven so well in 2 years!

PS, I pulled up next to an R8 on Saturday, I have to say I wanted to like the R8, but after seeing one for real, disappointed

Simon, forgive me if this has already been covered but can you please tell me more about the diff mod? I've got an 06 SE and the diff seems OK but I'd hate to miss out on any improvements. smile

Re the R8, I agree. Seeing one in the flesh, it ain't no Gallardo for presence.
