I've probably bored for England over my Espada affair but I just received this email today:

I've just stumbled across your various articles on the Espada (and all the TVR stuff). Great pictures and nice video. We were apparently inspired by the same car as I was fortunate enough to ride in Alister McLean's Espada courtesy of your Uncle Gregory James. He drove it like a maniac but I loved every second of it and have always wanted one but never been able to afford it !! He was a bit lucky to get out of the crash apparently it was squashed when it turned over - "brake failure" official line - too fast into a corner me thinks at least that what Greg hinted to me later. He got me hooked on a Jensen Intercepter Mk11 which he had for a while - later he was using a lhd 6.9 Merc, scarily fast but only 8 miles to the gallon then he had a Rolls - but I guess you know all that.

PS. I've still got a photo of the McLean Lambo somewhere !
Great - sometimes! - how the internet shrinks the world! smile

Tell me about it, I was half watching a programme about a tunnel run and some bloke I'd heard of somewhere pops up in a mentalist loud TVR.

It doesn't shrink the world, it just gets you to meet the right folks.

Cheers, a few more Espada articles and prices will go up wink
