Got in to an arguement.... Whats your opinion?
Discussion
Didn't mean to omit that. Apologies.
I just can't get excited about Astons, especially when all their engines are from the Ford group and when the keys remind me of my Grandad's Ford Sierra.
Astons all look the same now, and they sound like they are engineered to sound good, rather than the Italian way of making any supercar sound like a pure thoroughbred.
Astons just seem a bit golf club naff and for people whose trousers are too short

Ollie, i used to have this argument all the time when i was a kid,
it's one that never gets resolved, it continues all the way into adulthood and on until you die.
some people will like Ferraris, some lambo's, some astons god forbid, some even like porches and bmw's
the bottom line is that each marque has it's pros and cons
but Ferrari's are the best

The only Aston I have enjoyed driving was the AM V8 which was a very nice car. But I dont rate the DB9 or DB7 they are too much of a businessman/retired person type of car. As for Ferrari`s and Lambo`s you never ever get tired of driving them. You always get a buzz every time you turn on the engine or see people just stop in their tracks to look at it. For me Ferrari will always win with Lambo in a close second. (Although Pagani`s aren`t too bad either).
I will save the Astons till I get over 50.

modern aston martins = pub landlords/old mens' cars. Been in every Aston from Db4 onwards and they lost their way pretty quickly in my eyes when they made the virage.
He has obviously overlooked the fact that aston can't make engines, whereas ferrari does
You're talking out of your arse as much as Ollie's mate He has obviously overlooked the fact that aston can't make engines, whereas ferrari does

Both companies make some great cars, and always have.
Both companies have made some hounds in the past.
Spend good wheel time with either (rather than just a few minutes sitting behind the wheel making parping noises) and you learn that they are very different marques, but none the worse for that.
Any petrolhead not smiling after a good run in either has a screw loose.

I want a Ferrari. I want it purely because I love Ferraris more than any other car. It's as simple as that. There seems to be quite a lot of people around who think you're a tosser if you drive a supercar, so I'd hardly venture onto the roads in one if I had such a complex that other people's opinions mattered. Thanks

The old penis enlargement arguement!
Who makes this crap up ? - where can you attempt to knock a man who has obviously become successful....easy, just say he has a little nob (the one thing that no one can buy a bigger / flashier version of)
This is just an age old dig at the Alpha Males who prove themselves to be successful passed on by the runts of the male litter who never quite made it.
I think most would call it jealousy.
ps. Will26, what is that website of yours all about?
... and what is the hook up with Jobsite? (sorry, just being nosey)

the big image problem aston martin have got right now is that their cars are the current "must have".... rather similar to Bentley with their Conti GT,,,
obviously, the manufacturer doesn't see it as a 'problem' as they are shifting shed loads of product and their brand awareness is increasing massively.
the problem is therefore with the 'true enthusiast' who covets the exclusivity & sporting nature of the marque.
guess there's always Bristol....

I love both, but to me they're two very different types of cars. I think the interior of the db9 is beautiful, and if i had to drive something every single day in the real world i would probably pick a db9 for the job.
However... i'm a ferrari nut. A ferrari in my eyes is pure in every essence and does exactly what it says on the tin to the T. Altho i have to admit that i've never driven any of these cars, but hopefully if the cookie crumbles in my favour, i am hoping to start shopping around for a 360 in the new year. In a dream world where i had ooodles of cash i would have both. I would imagin that a 360 with a full tubi and decat wouldn't be too enjoyable went hung over/headache/stressed from work...
