M3 to 3200GT

had a look at a 3200 today,2001Y,one owner,45k miles FSH at Owens,Argento(?)blue,beige/tan interior,auto box.

looks really nice,i like the colour.... but more importantly if i go back for a drive tomorrow what should i particulary look for?
ive read many older threads but would appreciate any up to date info.

am i mad to swap my M3 for one?

Can't really help with the what to look for question. You should find plenty of advice here in previous threads.

Are you mad? Probably not I've just moved from a 911 C4S to a 4200 spyder. Is it the most sensible decision ever? Again probably not. However that's what makes life more interesting......

Not mad - I swapped my M3 for a 4200 Coupe (twice but that's another story). The Maserati is much more interesting and exclusive........if that floats your boat.

Try the auto and manual as they are quite different cars I believe.

Running costs higher than M3 and you will need to make a decision about an expensive warranty or chance it without one (no different to M3 in that respect, my M3 E46 had a new engine under warrenty).
