I have always fancied doing the Ring, but I have never looked into it. Planning to go over in the next few weeks. If anyone has done it, please post some pointers on how you get there, where to stay, how to prepare your car, where is it!!? Just the basics really. Thanks
Loads and loads of info on this site:http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/
Hope that helps.

I'd recommend that you don't time your laps (it's actually not allowed), then you'll enjoy it more and won't feel pressured to go full bollock and ending scrapping it.
Take your time, learn the track as best you can in the time you've got and enjoy yourself. You will be overtaken by local Golf GTi's and E30 3 Series', don't let it bother you! They know the place like the back of their hands, their cars are set up for it, and they've not got a £100k Ferrari to lose!
It's an awesome place

There are loads of threads about the ring, Ben lovejoys website is great as already mentioned above, Northloop.co.uk is another good source, http://www.bridgetogantry.com/ is another.
Book a ferry crossing, drive over, plenty of B&B's around the track and nice restaurants, find a suitable weekend with TF days and just take it easy, and don't even think of racing unassuming german plate golf's driven by the locals who know the track like the backs of their hands.
Put your name down on the shortlist for the Ringtaxi and hope someone fails to turn up.
Try and get a few mates together always makes it more fun.
Seriously though, do a few searches, there is a lot of info already on PH about the ring, if nothing else check out the Cerbergring thread that was a trip earlier this year.
