...hehe

Come on chaps, some of you guys offered your selves up to the Lions Den...(opps sorry meant to say Fighting Torque!) wink...to expell the rumours that some of your so called exotica, were quicker than a "Plastic car with bits falling off"...

A number of years ago,as you all know, Mr Clarkeson, demonstrated that the Cerbera was the "Daddy" in a straight line drag, beating some pretty good cars along the way...and yes before you Fezza boys correct me....there was no Prancing Horse there then...(chickened out then too!) hehe

So come on guys....put your machineary where your forum talk is...and come and see if your 'supercars' can really cut the pace, and beat an "Old Dinosaur Cerbera"...smile

If you have the balls for a thrashing, sign up here now ... www.fightingtorque.org

I was pitched against an F430 in the second run, was looking forward to that. Still I can hold my head high as I will be there.

Come on guys.... I've got my dad in my Tiv, and he loves Ferrari.

Don't make me ask the guy in my road, with the Ferrari that he made out of an MR2, to come along.

This is being recorded, don't forget, and he's got all of 120bhp.

I'll pay his entrance fee for him, if I don't see a proper one entered.

As a long standing Ferrari owner IMO, we know what a ferrari can do and we also know that there are faster cars out there. We as owners have nothing to prove because we know that the TVRs Scoobys ect ect can be faster, but its not about that with us.
The ferrari is always the yard stick that other performance cars measure them self by. Dam ...no matter were i go in any of the Ferrari i drive, i always get some one up me bumper trying to pass me. And when they do they must boast about it for months.
Maybe most ferrari drivers are not volunteering due to the fact that this could be yet another ferrari baiting/beating exorcise, were every one says "i beat a ferrari". Hey bully for you dudes.
Hey its all down to personal choice as to which performance car you choose, as well as how deep ya pockets are ofcourse wink If i wanted a super fast car like a modded scooby or the like then i would buy a couplewink, but there again there not Ferraris now are theysmile

Speaking in general terms, there are plenty of cars out there faster than "a Ferrari", but a TVR isn't one of them. Faster for me includes going round bends smile

This is nothing to do with proving who's faster and being able to boastabout it. It is about petrolheads getting together with their different cars, doing a bit of tyre kicking and having a blast down a runway. I very much doubt my cerb will be anywhere near the quickest but that is not the point as far as I am concerned.

Come on down and have some fun, a good chat with other owners and the chance to push your cars in a safe environment.

By the way I also get all types of cars lining up behind me, but like yourself I usually pull over and let them go past with a smile.

I can understand ferrarispider's post .. owning a car (any car) is all about what the whole car does for you .. be that straihtline, corners, poser appeal, bragging about how deep your pockets are or any other issue .

however surely owning a ferrari is mostly about peformance be that straighline or corners. if the ferrari really is the yardstick against which other sports/[erformance cars are compared why not prove it? Or are Italian yards a bit shorter than everyone else's ? wink

Of course there's faster cars out there... and a lot faster bikes to.

The point is we wanted to see one of each supercar, which yours are, at the event.

The fact that someone want to race you, every time you go out in your car, is non of my business.

The fact that your being asked to bring your beautiful cars along, should be seen as a compliment.

If A Tiv beats a Ferrari down a strip, you wont see us having any banners made, likewise, if my car gets beaten by a Ferrari, I won't be setting fire to my car either.

I know a lot of you are going to the "funday" ....there's a ferrari, there's another one, and another one, and another one...... but surely one of you can let us hear one of those lovely cars at full chat, racing down a runway ?

Interesting line of argument.

You seem to be saying, we hate comparing our cars on only one of their attributes because it is a meanless exercise, at the same time as pushing the fact that on price the ferrari wins hands down.

I would agree with you that a drag strip is not the place to demonstrate why ferrari is so well regarded by petrolheads. But it is a place where they can be seen and can at least show off 'one' of their attributes that interests me more than price.

I think that ferraris are perhaps the most beautiful cars ever produced as a collective group. But I do question why some people own them.

No you mis-understand. We Ferrari owners dont put our cars forward as yard sticks. None ferrari owners do as well as media like magazines ect.
I bet we have all heard a dozen people saying things like, "i beat a fezza of the line", "i took a fezza", "my car knocks out more power than a fezza", "them fezzas are not what they are cracked up to be" ect ect.
I dont hear it about any other car other than a Lambo.
Even if there is 100 cars there and one Ferrari, the boasting point will be about beating the ferrari. Especialy if its a current model.
All this is IMO by the way, not that i know anythingsmile
