Im looking to get insured on my fathers Gallardo for my 22nd birthday. Are there any companies out there that specialise in this sort of thing for someone my age?! Who insures cristiano ronaldo or wayne rooney on their supercars!??!!?

Just for a day? Have you contacted your fathers insurance

People like Michael Ward Insurance insure a high number of professional sports people... but not for a day

They'll do it. It'll cost a LOT of money, say 500 for a day.

The thing which will kill it will be the excess. With no experience and a clear desire to "make the most of it" you're seen as a bad risk. I wouldn't insure you!!!!!!

I have a client with a Zonda. He pays about 8000 a year but he has a 50,000 excess.

I wouldn't be surprised if they want the same from you, and you to leave the money on deposit.

If your dad moves his policy to a Chubb Masterpiece policy, anyone not living at the primary residence is allowed to drive the car

Correct. I am with Chubb and it allows this.

If its only going to be for a day take it VMAX at Bruntingthorpe instead (see the VMAX section for details or email CraigW) where you can rag it around in safety without the need for insurance. You will be able to use all of the cars performance without having to worry about crashing or losing your licence.

£180 ish for a days flat out hooning is far better value.

Sorry to hijact the thread but this Cubb Masterpiece policy.... is it as competitive as normal insurance? I couldnt get the fiance insured on the turbo as shes 22yoa. Maybe this is an alternative.

it's arguably the best insurance you can get , but it is more expensive. Speak to Chris at michael ward associates
