Oh dear - have these cars reached that level where a Chav really can chop his Nova in for one...

Dave, any idea where it is?...ashamed to admit that it could be in Essex somewhere...

Yes but is it better that it ends up like that or as some neglected rusting hulk behind someone's garage. At least as it is, whether you like it or not, it is being used.

Apart from the sills I think that car looks all right. Visually its better than Bob Wallace's P300 Urraco 'Experimentale'IMO.

- that's not too bad - it wouldn't take much to make it look right - some proper wheels, a few tins of paint and a series of sharp blows and cuffs to the owners head...

Not sure what's happening with those sills, but apart from that, yellow paintwork, colour coded louvres and wheels ... looks ok to me yes

And it's out there being used as someone just said. Not necessarily owned by a chav either as they still take some money to look after, more than your average Corsa I would guess.

I think if you didn't try and pretend it was a Lambo, it'd look OK - the only similarity it has with a Miura is the badge on the back.......

There seem to be a lot of posts deriding people for fittting after market wheels and what not to Ferraris and Lambos - why is that? One of the things I love about the car hobby is that there is so much diversity in taste. If we all liked the same thing then car shows would be soooo boring sleep
The owner has not made any changes that aren't easily reversed. I have to say, overall I like it - not sure about the sills but I think the wheels work well enough. Ferraris and Lambos are not so universally special that they can't or shouldn't be modded. Some are just downright tacky, true enough, but lighten up folks, it's their car and their money.

Sure Al, but as you know, that car is going to have cost the owner a chunk of money to get to that condition - repair the rot, repair the interior (unless he's gone to Halfords...) full repaint, couple of old fluorescent light covers for the sills, tin of silver paint for the bumpers, 7 series BMW wheels and careful mistmatching of the yellow paint for the grilles....

...when he could actually have restored it to original for pretty much the same cost, if even less!

Just seems to be an extension of the American Hot-Rod culture... pretty much like Wrecks to Riches, American Hot Rod, Overhaulin in its approach... only difference is the base car...

True yes I don't know enough about them but I do like the look of the Urracos.

Anyone see the 308 GT4 at this years Auto Italia Brooklands?

Was the most overwheeled/tyred thing I have ever seen. Was for sale as well, around 20K I think.

I don't think it's too bad. I don't like the wheels or the matching louvres, but other than that it appears to be clean and tidy. It's nice to see another p250S smile

I like bigger wheels and low profile tyres on old cars. Not keen on the fit/style of those though.

I have an urge to fit some different wheels on my Espada (something very similar to the standard Campagnolos but 17" instead of 15" ). The springs/dampers would have to be changed at the same time to properly control the ride quality/handling. Maybe I should go and iron my hands....

PH'er Furryballer has oversize-but-similar-design-to-original wheels on a 308 - I think it looks great:
