Had a great time on the Northants run today, marred only by the fact that the battery light came on just before we got to Sywell.

roof wouldnt go up and the car wouldnt restart.
The AA plugged in a new battery which got me home and they recharged my one whilst following me back.

i'm assuming it's alternator related, so either a loose wire, broken/slipping belt or just a failed alternator.

does anyone with better knowledge than me suggest anythng else it might be,
or failing that recommend someone honest in london who will take care of the car as much as my guy in Yorkshire normally does?

i want to try and get it fixed by next weekend as i've something important (charity related) to do in it on sunday and i really dont want to let them down.

i was thinking of Verdi's if all else fails, but as i've only got about 30-40 mins max driving time with the battery as it is i want to make sure that the first place i take it to is the right one.

any thoughts?

verdis have a very good reputation. from my personal experience they were way better than either of the two authorised dealers i dealt with.

Agreed.

Had it beein a 355 I'd have definitely said alternator. May still be, but give Verdis a call (and be patient wink).
