I don’t get to come along to many of the usual events as I am located in the North but shall be attending this show due to the timing of a family trip down south.

I do not have a Ferrari or Maserati but am an avid fan and looking forward to seeing some classic and rare motors, can I expect to see some good examples?

Thanks

This has got to be the most generic reply possible!

If the weather is good at this event, the turn out of great cars, classic or new, will be fantastic!

If the weather is poor... well, you'd probably be best off staying in your car and just keeping on with the driving to your holiday destination!

In 2002, LCUK had a few cars at this event - the weather was atrocious, we all nearly drowned or got buried in mud slides (only a slight exaggeration!) but in 2004, the sun was out, the cars were many, varied and almost universally gorgeous... other years since have had variable quality weather with variable amounts and quality of cars - they always look better in the sunshine!!

Long range weather forecast is for a bit o' cloud but otherwise sunny. My '73 Jarama might get there, if the LCUK Chairman is able to drive it from where the car lives and he brings that and not his just sorted Urraco... the long, dull and sad story about why my Lambo lives 300 miles away from where I do is available in 18 parts for the terminally insomniac...

Thanks for that.

The weather does look fair so fingers crossed for a good turn out. I looked over the past topics and found some pictures from last years event and was suprised and happy to see an Enzo and F40 made it along. (http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&t=278314&hw=+%2BAuto+%2BItalia)

I would love to see an LP640 but heres hoping and I can never see enough 246 GTs.

I am also going to this. It was quite interesting last year. I think my friend with his De Tomaso is going too.

Andy,

It's this Sunday 19th August at Stanford Hall, just off J19 of the M1.

Would be great if you and the LP640 could make it.

Any idea how much it is to get in? Says pay on the day on the site, but the hall site just has a star denoting special charge for that day....

Well it rained first thing and come 4 the heavens opened but a big thank you to everyone who did turn out.

A special thanks to the black Ferrari 599 who we met coming down a small country lane and as I pointed my camera at the car he slowed right down for the photo then gunned it as he went past.

Does anyone know what happened to the Lambo Gallardo GT from Lambo High Wycombe? The car only got as far as the back of its truck, I saw the first attempt to get the motor off but after that it stayed on the back of the car.

Hope everyone had a safe trip back as the M6 North was horrible

Much as I wanted to get there, I was unable to go for a number of dull, boring reasons that are now't to do with the weather.

If it's any consolation, after the 2002 event in similar conditions, we had a fairly good rest of the summer, weatherwise! (...and of course 2003 was the hottest summer since, er, for a long time beforehand!)

Personally, I blame all the camp weathermen on the BBC and the plastic-faced girls on ITV - bring back John Kettley and Bill Giles who didn't spend most of the forecast trying to occupy as much of the screen with just themselves as possible and actually had a stab at telling you what the weather was going to be!

Best turnout was unquestionably from the Maserati community - a fabulous selection including 3 x 3500's, a Mexico, Kyalami, Indy, 2 x Quattroporte, Sebring, Merak, 2 x Khamsin etc etc.

There were a few Lambos, a plague of Ferraris and a couple of shiny Panteras, but only The Maser's provided any real excitement to my mind.

The F599 wasnt bad,Nor the opend up f40...nor the 330 GTC and spider. Although one has to know what they are. But there were some very nive 1960 Mazzas that had class.
All in all a poor turn out of Lambos and alot of ferraris missing as well dude to the threat of bad weather. I was last there two years back and it was full of Italian Exotics.

I was going to go too but it was raining when I got up. The idea of standing around in the wet didn`t appeal.
