Think my old mans service on the 456 at Bob Houghtons was about a grand or so.

If you do go this route, check the valve guides have been done too. The originals are dog s**t and it's a top en re build to sort out. Min £5k.........
I just found out that a car i was interested in has valve guide problems. At the right price it could be worth it. Get the work done and you know its good for your ownership.
