Okay okay so I know I should listen to the engine BUT I like my music and being used to Bose in my other cars the ferrari system is SHI** - So, any suggestions and likely costs to get something semi decent in the car? I could also be tempted by a dual function with satnav etc?

Any help appreciated!

Im about to get a speaker up grade for my 430 as i have the same problem as you.

www.autoaudio.uk.com

I have been speaking to greg and looking to spend about 2/2.5 which will get a very good sound package but im not buying a new head unit.

Hope that helps.

Quick question - the Alpine unit shown in the 430 on your website - does it just fit in or is there much work required?

I ask because the standard 430 audio unit is just as bad as the 360 and the navigation is hopeless

This is very true, i was thinking of changing my head unit but i think my current one is going to be replaced under warranty. Is the head unit in the later cars just as bad as the earlier ones?

well the sound is ok

Three things really piss me off:
1. the navigation is useless - having an arrow going left/right is hopeless compared to the moving map on the Lambo/Audi system
2. the music info doesn't display with the speedo - so you need to keep looking down at the radio when you are navigating the MP3 menu
3. there is only 1 compact flash card space - so if you listen to the MP3 (which I guess everyone does) you can't use the navigation

My head unit turns its self off and the sound is pathetic to say the least. I can listen to my Ipod(connected through a cable at the back of the head unit) and use my sat nav at the same time though. I also agree that it isnt a very good layout, leaning over and looking away from the road to adjust anything.

Yeah its not bad, but it depends on the quality of camera you use. I think alpine have just bought out a really good one, but give Paul a call and he will talk you through it and give you what options you have

Fits straight in (ish, the navigation system is a separate box which needs to be installed elsewhere but the screen unit goes straight in).
