F355 - What else to look for?
Discussion
The urge has finally got too much and I'm just starting to seriously look at buying a F355, either a Berlinetta or a GTS, and just wondering what else I need to look for over and above the following:
A search through previous discussions brought up: cambelt last changed, manifolds, oil leaks, and the condition of the buttresses, as potential week points. Is there anything else that I specifically need to look for?
Regarding the GTS, are these somewhat unloved? As I don't see too many around and don't hear them mentioned too often.

as for rarity , rhd gtb /gts / spider were all produced in roughly equal numbers
GTB RHD UK = 496
GTS RHD UK = 434
SPD RHD UK = 454

I had one, and am looking to buy another one in a few months. I prefered it to all three variations. Less mechanical risk than the Spider and it also keeps the C pillar line of the GTB, so the best of both worlds with open top motoring. The targa panel stows dehind the seats and so it doers eat at the leg room a bit.Tuan

Oh there is sooooooo much to look out for. Such a shame, as its a brilliant looking/sounding car. Here are a few more issues that spring to mind:
Check the suspension warning light is working (on ignition start), so you can see if the suspension is working ok. The actuators fail lots.
Check the shocks for leaks
Listen for the exhaust bypass value, be sure its not soooo rattley to annoy you.
Check for milking on the windscreen edges.
Wheel nuts corrode like anything, check em out
Radiator leaks - look around for evidence of coolant leakage.
Check the heat shield above the exhaust is not destroyed (mine was)
Look for evidence of CATs going bad - possibly white powder around zorst tips
Listen for manifold leaks, ticking noise on start up (in some cases)
check condition of undertray and cover around bell-housing (mine was well dodgy)
Have you got a spare key and the master red fob/key?
Make sure its got the tool kit in it..
etc etc etc I could go on for days and days..... Ric website covers it all anyway, but I was just bored so thought I write this. Good luck!

Thanks everybody for the comments, lots of good points for me to bear in mind. And glad that the GTS gets some positive feedback too, as could happily do with some wind in the hair (whats left of it) motoring without having to go down the full convertible route.
One other question, I recall something being mentioned elsewhere about problems with the F1 paddle shift system/gearbox on the earlier cars. Anyone any idea what the problem could be there?

355's are far too common, you need one of these:

Stinking Jap propaganda......as if.
Get real.
The Gallardarse has the same 0-60 as the NSX-R even though the Honda has a fraction of the power, too much pasta? Get real.
