Hi,

My clutch is slipping at > 4000 revs.

I've done a search on PH but can only find prices / discussions re 4200 clutches.

Anybody had a manual clutch replaced recently (in their 3200, obviously)?

4 months ago £2000 for complete new clutch at main dealer, now looking forward to a lovely bill to fix low oil pressure due to a worn washer at the end of the crankshaft, give me a clutch problem any day !

The original 3200 Sachs clutch kit (supplied outside the Official Dealership since this Spring) is available from Eurospares for £350 which apparently includes all 3 components. You may need to call them as I can't see this as a kit online

hope this helps

Thanks Nigelo, everybody.

Have been quoted 1700 all in by main dealer (inc VAT) but 2100 if pressure bearing required?

I've also spoken to Mike at classic and sports who has quoted lower but reckons it's an 8 hour job.

My mistake, I must have been half asleep - It IS online under part number MCLK001 for £350 and includes Centre friction plate / Cover plate / thrust bearing. See link

http://www.eurospares.co.uk/searchResult.asp?M=3&Mo=&A=&B=&S=MCLK001

FWIW, it's madness to do the job without replacing all 3 components in view of the labour involved being the same with any or all of these parts. As for the Dealer's prices, they really do need shooting.

hope this helps

Typical, I needed one a couple of months ago, and the best price I could find was £700. Eurospares quoted about £1400 for all 3 items.

No idea on what basis Eurospares quoted you Robert, but provided they had them in stock, they have quoted around £1,000 for the 3 components for at least the last 2 years, + VAT admittedly. FWIW, their prices always reflect what they can buy the parts for, as you would expect. Since Sachs became free of the OEM shackles, more sensible prices now prevail and James passes that on to his customers.
