Driving home last night I grounded out slightly on a speed bump. When I got home I checked out the underside and noticed a cylindrical piece protruding from the undertray on the right hand side of the car, just forward of the rear wheel. It looks like it's supposed to be there but I've never noticed it before. As I have nothing to compare it too I can't tell if it's been damaged by the speed bump.

Does anyone know what this piece is, or what it's supposed to look like originally. It's only on one side so I'm a little puzzled. BTW it's a 2000 550 Maranello.

Basher, It's a rigid piece of plastic about 5cm long. Cylindrical and tapering slightly towards the lower end. Is that what the fuel overflow pipe looks like?

It is on the right hand side in front of rear wheel and it looks like a black toilet overflow pipe....never touched it but thought it was amde of rubber actually and it gets rid of water and petrol in the petrol filler duct...
