Lamborghini Murcielago 40th Anniversary spotted - stunning
Discussion
Hi there,
On my way back from the office tonight, I was leaving the M1 at Junction 28 headed round the roundabout to pick up the A38 towards Derby. Sat in the traffic heading North on the A38 was a stunning Lamborghini Murcielago 40th Anniversary. No mistaking the car, the colour even with an overcast sky is superb.
Would love to be able to get some shots of this car outside as the only time I have ever seen one was at the 2006 Supercar Sunday.

Anyone now how many 40th Anniversaries made it to the UK ?
Regards
Tim

Jonny,
You would think differently if you drove it. Be assured, this is no ordinary Murky.
Also, there are 4 in the UK, 3 LHD and 1 RHD.
Hi Lorraine and Leslie.

Hi Lorraine and Leslie.

Many thanks for that.
I know you have previously referred to the 40th as no ordinary Murcielago, and I know you could not go into exact details. Is this still the case or can you now enlighten us ?
Regards
Tim
No, I can tell all now, and it feels liberating!!!
The 40th has a blue printed engine, which, along with the factory fit sports exhaust, rated the cars bhp figure at about 615-620 straight from the factory, instead of the 580 bhp of the standard car.
Now when this car was released, the 6.5 engine was well under development, and wanting to cash in on the limited edition, but not steal sales from the up coming LP 640, it was decided not to release any performance figures for the car, nor let any journalist drive it, so that no negative press could be leveled at the LP 640 for only having another 10-20 bhp from the increased displacement.
The cars had also been set up differently, and were alot lighter on their feet. I never got to the bottom of why exactly, but there are liberties you can take with a 40th that a reguler Murky would eat you alive for.
But don't just take my word for it, as I did several back to back demos with Murky owners, and all agreed, and have said so in the previous posts.
So by no means is this just a Murky with a paint job.
So now you know. I bet they won't answer the phone to me at Sant'Agata anymore.
As an aside, the reason I couldn't always tell all on here is that I was once disciplined by Lamborghini Italy for something I posted on PH.
They read this, saw that I was giving too much away, and I got the boll**king of a life time from them, and ended up on a final warning, and no, I am not telling you what it was I posted that got me into trouble.
Regards all,
Ruttboy.

If you have the location of the LHD Cars please let me know as i have the Grey Spare Key for one as it was given to me by mistake by the dealer i bought my Gallardo from.
I never realised until i sold my car by which time the garage had changed hands.
I know the car was there just before i bought my car and it was on SOR, it was a LHD vehicle.

Hmm, i think that's what i saw parked outside Mo*Vida on Argyll Street in London a few weeks ago. Colour looks right. Had foreign plates and the three colours of the Italian flag running from the bonnet to the baco of the car.
Very nice
Saw that outside Harrods not so long ago. Along with a white McMerc 722 and a red CGT.Very nice
