Hey peeps,
I spent a few days in the granturismo and am really enjoying it. The steering is meaty and gives quite a bit of feedback. the interior is beutifull and everything is just in the right place. I specced everything so the skyhook etc is spot on. Loads of grip round corners loads of feeling and the seats are really comfy even for 1600 click drives like i did yesterday. More than all of that she is beutifull. When i picked her up she was prked next to a 430, i was surprised as compared to the gt the 430 looked slightly dated. During my runnings had chance to put her next to the 599's and again she outshone them easily. Driving round london people are tripping over themselves looking, far to good looking for an everday car which i bought it for!

Only down points at themoment is that gaping mouth is rather low so have to watch scraping it across inclines and also the sat nav has gone pete tong a couple of times. No real drama tho. Also going down to 400 bhp from 600-700 is odd.

Thanks Tbops, I've been waiting for this as I've also got one on order as an everyday car. Can you let us know your full spec as I now need to go firm on mine and any advice you can give would be appreciated. smile

BTW it was great to see your Enzo at VW, I hoped to make myself known but you seemed permanently busy. beer

I ordered everything you could. It is black with red interior and black stitching with the birdcage wheels. Im really impressed with the red as its spot on. Somtimes red looks too garish or to bland but this red color is spot on...very hard to do. I have satnav phone kit skyhook parking sensors bose stereo hardrive jukebox...everything. There is a problem with the sat nav though as i called my dealer who had the same problem on his. The birdcage wheels are a definate. The demo had the dark grandsport wheels and they pale in comparison.Get the nose venture sheailded sheilded and enjoy! any other questions?

VW was busy i did enjoy it but itwas hard talking to everyone!

Where have they put the front number plate? (all the press photos had the front plate missing).

It goes on a little clip that sits under the bottom of the mouth. My one is a tiny plate smaller than 30 cm wide. At the moment its sitting on my passengers side floor, its going to stay there also.

Is that illegal or was there a loophole where a car could run without a front plate if there wasn't a place to fix one (like on an Enzo)?

So if the cops stop you , you'll say it fell off while parking near a kerb?

Whats the waitlist like on the GT? Last time I was in the dealers they quoted 10k deposit and at the moment they claim 500 orders. Could we see them selling at a premium?

in short yes. just say it was knocked off or the sticky bit on the back came off.

As for waiting lists i havent got a clue. my dealer puts me in for loads of cars without me asking for them then he tells me, he specs them up and everything. Hence fortunatly im always on the top of lists.

That was 6 weeks ago in this thread. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=454216#post454220

Why do you keep pretending that these cars are yours? Enzo. SLR (which you didn't know where to get a number plate mounting from). Maser GT.

I have no doubt that the ST is yours and that you get to drive some nice toys in the course of your work. What is it that you do? Valetter?

Liar liar pants on fire, I too drive an enzo. Its made of poo and I drive it everywhere as I have nothing better to do and I lie and make things up as I am 5 and know no better than this to make my penis appear bigger than it is which is small and no women like me unless I drive up in this car and say its mine which its not as I lie but some people believe and dont think I am a valeter at all and they are thick but I am so smart and they never know so I am the best.

No respect expected. Ok. so the valeter tag may have been a cheap shot, though he does seem to spend a lot of time on Detailing World (something I'll never pretend to understand, any time I spend on my cars is on maintenance rather thanm polishing, but then I'm a self confessed slob). It seems rather odd that someone who claims to own all of these wonderful machines would use a Focus (good as they are) as a daily driver. I am asking because he has been willy waving on a number of forums. If you'd care to correct me, fair enough.

I wasn't referring to your post fbb, rather the one above mine, but to be honest with you, I couldn't care less if tbops owns these cars or not. It really matters not to me at all.

He wouldn't be the first person to lie on the internet if that were his choice. I have seen him driving an Enzo though, which is more than I have ever managed.

tbops has just said that the Maser will be for a daily "hack" (once again, brilliant! thumbup).
But he has been seen at the VW's meet in the E.
To echo the above, if he was a liar, he wouldn't be the first and most definitely wouldn't be the last!

I'm pretty new to this forum but one thing I've already picked up is the constant doubting of tbops. If he hasn't got the cars...he's atleast driving them (as people can vouch for) - which is a dream for most people...especially on here.

I personally believe he's got the cars and admire his enthusiasm towards exotica...

Hmmm...I'm only 19, but why does it sometimes feel that I'm more mature than some people on PH?..

Sorry for going off topic, but I just got fed up and had to say something!
