Cats - longlife exhausts
Discussion
I had an engine warning light on my Maser, the diagnostic showed a failing cat, ideally to be replaced in pairs - £1300 a piece from Maserati, plus fitting, natch.
Lots of research lead me to Longlife on the Queenstown Road in Battersea. I had a telephone quote from their head-office guy for them to make a PAIR for £600!
That turned out to be the price for the rears, but they made and fitted the pair of front cats for £900, saving me circa £2100.
My reservations were allayed when I visited last week and saw 2 UA LP640s getting race set exhausts fitted there. The manager, Junior, is a hugely knowledgeable enthusiast and he was telling me about the various tricks he's done with his 550M and his big Merc.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I was surprised that no-one here has mentioned them, 'cause I'd certainly encourage anyone looking at performance enhancements to at least consider them. Mention PH to him because he's keen to tap into like-minded individuals.
