Buying Advice........
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Need some advice about purchasing another exotic. To cut along story short I sold my 360 last summer thinking I'd have a break from the exotics but I've got the bug again and started scouring the classifieds.
I've owned a 355 and 360 to date but really fancy a move to the darkside and getting a Lambo.
Here comes the dilema, I’m only planning on owning the car for 12 months max as I need to invest the cash elsewhere next year. Depreciation is a concern but my biggest fear is not being able to get out of the car quickly.
The cars which are currently taking my fancy are:
Murci if I can find a good one around 100k or a Diablo. The Gallardo is a lovely car but doesn't quite do it for me and can't afford the spyder.
So, is a Diablo a bad idea as I've seen the same cars sticking around in the classifieds for a while now.
Also, does anyone know this diablo in the classifieds:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/214895.htm
Any advice on Lambo's would also be appreciated.
Also, are there any Murci or Diablo owners around the Birmingham / Solihull area. Need to make sure I can actually get the car up the drive and into the garage/ Had no problem with the 348, 355 or 360 but better to be sure.

Errmm... if you don't quite have the cash for it (OK, you have it now, but need it tomorrow as you say) it looks as not the smartest of ideas to invest in wheels IMHO.
You are putting all of you working capital on an asset which will depreciate and is risky, unless you have it as a grarage queen (just think of an idiot smashing into it; that's always a possibility). You have to be prepared to absorb the hit if the worst (God forbit) happens.
Dunno... it's your money anyway.
Just my 2c.

You've lost me, I've got the cash as I'm looking at buying a car for 12 months not 12 days. You are putting all of you working capital on an asset which will depreciate and is risky, unless you have it as a grarage queen (just think of an idiot smashing into it; that's always a possibility). What I can't afford is to be stuck with a car for 6 months while I'm trying to sell it. Taking a hit on depreciation, servicing, insurance etc is fine as I've done it all before.
The reason I like to be out of a car quick is I don't use finance so it's my money tied up in the car and not monthly payment.
As for garage queens, people who know me know that I used my cars so it will not sit in the garage.

By the time you deal with depreciation, insurance, warranty, risk of being stuck with the car after twelve months and of course the odd servicing bill, it may make better sense to join a car club for twelve months instead?
Been thinking about that, enquired about Ecurie and Group20 last year. Have been warned off Ecurie by a friend who had a really bad experience with them and I didn't get a positive response from Group20 when we spoke but I've since heard they are a pretty good outfit.
It's just nicer having your own car to use when you want.
Also after 1 year of ownership with the 360 I never lost anything near the cost of joining any of the above.
