Put my deposit down today on an 02 car. A 1 in a 1000 chance of the right spec (manual), colour combo (Nettunio blue and tan) and right price (fairly leggy but FMSH) in the right place (100miles away) has meant I have bought the first car I went to look at - I know, breaking the golden rule but the heart ruled the head and I shook on it.

To say I was happy with the test drive would be an understatement - very rapid but stable, wonderful engine noise without droning, comfort but still the feeling of being in something sporty. A massive contrast with both the Marcos and Esprit and a good stable mate for them.

I'll collect in two weeks time - fingers crossed for an decent ownership experience ;o)

Congratulations and welcome to the fold. I've had my 4200 for about 8 months now, no problems and loving every minute. Nearest specialist is probably Cortese in Bath, although I have no personal experience of them. I use Emblem in Poole and would recommend them - as do all the people I've met who have used them. It might be worth the journey.

Lewis,

Congratulations, welcome to the 'lure of the Trident' - I wish you many happy miles driving your 4200 - sounds a good colour combo - had mine for more than 2 years - still smiling a cheesy grin after more than 26,000 miles. Even took it round the Top Gear track recently - brilliant fun.....

Cheers,
John

Agonisingly, I am still waiting to collect the car from the dealer, paperwork still at the DVLA having it's reg number changed from the private plate. And missing all this great weather... Fingers crossed for the call tomorrow.

Didn't know there was a specialist in Bath, but I spotted Emblem via the Maser Owner's Club site. They look the business and the extra miles are no hassle I'm sure.

Thanks for the welcome, the car should complement the Marcos and Lotus well

Hi Yeti, I'm in Bristol too (copper coloured GranSport). Drop me a pm, I can give you the low down on Cortese (I've bought from and sold to them), and can also recommend a good local specialist for minor work.

I think Route 324 have a specialist in your area mate, why not go register, check out the independents with them, save yourself some dosh and you'll at least get a new chamois to keep your new P&J clean throuhg the winter. wink
