What format music files do I need to get the SD card reader on the Sat Nav setup. I copied my MP3 collect from my iTunes folder but the SD card comes up as corrupt or similar. Is there a special directory structure of format I need to adhere to?

You need to format the card to FAT instead of FAT32.

I think.

If you've taken the tracks from itunes chances are they are in mp4 format which is unreadable by non apple devices. You can download tunebite software which will let you convert mp4 files to mp3 which will then play in the SD card slot.

The cards do need to be formatted as FAT (aka FAT16, and not as FAT32). The cards are almost certainly formatted as FAT(16) when you get them out of the packet, but it's worth checking.

However, the thing that caught me out (and that I did not find when I searched this forum) is that the filenames must be no longer that 64 characters. If you have long filenames on the card, then the system just does not recognise the card. Nor, apparently, can you have nore than 400 files on the card.

The manual says you can have folders (no more than 256 per card) and .m3u/.M3U playlists on the cards as well. It also says the cards must be no bigger than 256MB, and the MP3 encoding must be a fixed bit rate between 32 and 300kb/s.

HTH.

Bugger so my new 4GB SD card is a complete waste.

Is there an iPod option that Lambo offer?

There an optional factory-fitted iPod socket (in the passenger glove box) on the MY08 (from Summer 07) price-list.

However, if you have that, you can't have the CD changer -- it's the one or the other. Apparently, they use the same port on the AV system.

We've got the same system in our Audi, with a 2gb card in and that works just fine. I believe you could go as high as 4gb, but am not certain. Anything up to 2gb will definately work though.

05 Ultra.

But Itunes converts the songs into Avi or something you need them in another form, can't remember which one. So you will need to download a convertor. But other than that 4gb will hold loads and loads of songs no problems.

Itunes has an mp3 convertor built-in, unless you try to convert songs purchased thru iTunes music store..
