Looking to buy a white 348 from Verdi.

Does anyone think it could be a worry to sell on?

anything sells at the right price. For RHD the price from verdi seems competitive so if you aren't paying top dollar its not so hard a hit when it comes to resale, and with white being the colour of the moment....

But if white is the colour of the moment and it's priced well, how bad would it have to be priced in 3 years when everyone has gone off white?

I like it. Some find "default red" a bit predictable and seek out other colours. Smaller potential market though so resale could take a little longer. If you're happy the negotiated buying price reflects that, go for it.

Thanks Guys. That really helps and good to see there are others interested in it too.

The colour and resale question is my main concern however I wondered if I might also look like Crockett and Tubbs! Might have to give the fake tan a rest!

it looks fairly competitive price wise as one of the chaps said especially for a RHD. I believe it's on SOR with them so I am going to try and make an offer around the £20K mark.

My main issue is selling my Porsche Boxster at the moment and they won't take a trade-in otherwise I would probably buy it tomorrow for the rights dosh.

I like the white, think it's a bit quirky and kool to be honest. Red will also be my fav, however think its a bit different.

Thanks for your comments one and all.

From one who bought a bright yellow 348 Spider and would quite fancy a white Testarossa (cos i still av me pastel linen jacket and espadrils see!) I got quite excited when I saw that ... but it would have to be cheap as the market will be VERY niche when you come to sell it.

One thing it MUST have, is that roof colour coded. I think it looks dreadful with the black vinyl.

Anyone any good with photoshop that could colour code the roof please to demonstrate the point?

Buy it, by buy at the right price smile

LOL! smile yep does have the old MV look about it, however I quite like that sort retro Ferrari feel.

As soon as the Boxster goes I am going to try and get it. As long as I can make the numbers work, which might prove difficult. I want to pay £20K for it which I personally beleive it's worth.

Take your point re the roof. When its off it won't matter and the car would only ever see dry lid off outings so shouldn't be a big deal. You are right though.

They said they would do the belts prior to delivery.

Anyone else know what to look for on a 348? 1st Ferrari so don't want to catch a cold. The colour might be a gamble so can't afford anything else!

Although I quite like the look of it in the photos I've never seen a real 348 in white.

At £20k however, it would potentiall be worth respraying it properly (circa £5k+?) as you would presumably get most of your money back...

Have you viewed the car ? i was just wondering how tidy it is as i dont want to view it myself because i dont have the cash right now like you .
If you get it for 20k ill eat my hat , they are probably taking 4-5 k out of it for themselves so the owner would only get about 15k for it then , cant see that happening im afraid .
I tried to P/X with them as well but like you they were'nt interested , think they only take Itailen stuff.
Good luck .

Also don't forget that it is a Hong Kong import and as such will/should have had a speedo change from KPH to MPH. This must be documented and more importantly, you MUST have the original speedo to back it up.

this was my old car....

I didn't have much of an issue selling it, Karl sold it within 2 weeks and that was before the whole Miami Vice trend started up again.....

You are Don Johnson aren't you ? do you still have the linen suits with the rolled up sleeves ? Why , when its called miami vice (vice as in porn squad ) do you chase drug dealers ?
They've had the 348 for months though so maybe it has other issues hence the price .

I would say the real question is how much do you like it? Resale has to be considered of course, but if you love the colour and can get it at the right price then go for it.
