Ferrari 550 Everyday car
Discussion
Guys thanks for the help on the 355 post http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... but would really love a ferrari, guesing a 355 is not a goodish everyday car. Was thinking of a 550, any thoughts? Could i keep it on a london street, will it start when i need it to? or should i just get a 911 knowing it wil be fine but a litel boring?
Many thanks
Many thanks
Joe, I live in Battersea and parked my 997 there when I had it no problems at all. I would consider leaving a 550 on my street as long as it was a subtle colour.
Having said that for peace of mind it would be better to have a garage. These seem to be few and far between in Battersea but I'm sure there was a post on here a while back about lock-up garages for rent, I will see if I can find it - it was a website that showed all that were available in your area...

I have a 550 and live in Battersea. TBH I have a space in a secure car park, but I've left my previous cars, 993 Turbo 4 and 996 TT on the street without any problems. where in Battersea are you located?
With regard to the 550 as a daily driver, I've used mine every day to drive to work for the last 4 months without any problems at all (touch wood. It is a great car, much better than 8-cyl models, a real gentleman's GT. If you've driven one you will know that the torque is amazing, so different to a 911 Turbo. When you sit on the motorway doing 100MPH at only 3000 revs you'll understand what the car's capable of.
Do it!
