All,

Looking to buy a Gallardo and wondered if those already with them or have driven them have a view on driving position.. and more specifically seat height?

I am not sure i am quite a dwarf but perhaps close to status of "vertically challenged" @ 5'7.5 in my socks!

I drove one the other day and felt very low down, pearing over the top of the steering wheel.. and to my surprise i could not find a seat height adjustment! Is that the case with all but the full electric seat option cars?

I felt quite close to the steering wheel, but when u raked the seat back it seemed to push my back side forward in the seat.. just felt a little odd and surprised there is not much in the way of adjustments?

Anyone else find this or have a mrs that struggles? I can't imagine someone of 5'4" would feel very comfortable.

Or is it just the position and you have to get used to it?

Cheers

Nick

The wheel adjusts for both rake and reach, did you adjust that ? I have the fully electric seats, which adjust for height, so couldn't comment whether the manual ones do. I am the other end of the scale.. 6'3" and must admit it took me a while to get comfortable... just takes time to get right.

Nick. Non-electric seats have no adjustment for height. I didn't spec the electric seats in the end as there isn't a memory function, which seems ridiculous to me. Plus they add about 30kgs to the weight of the car.

However. My wife drove Larry the other day and she's considerably shorter than you (at 5'). As you're taller there will be a position to suite you, you'll just need to spend time finding it.

In my experience, a lot of people have the seat raked back too far in sportscars. Go for a more vertical position as this gives better control of the wheel as well as better visibility. If the peddle reach is okay aim to be able to rest both wrists on the top of the wheel without lifting your back off the seat.

If you can get all that right you should have a comfortable and relaxed driving position.
