I never thought I'd be saying this but it is.
On here there is obviously no such thing as too loud, but I have to address the issue.

I had the bypass pipes done - the car had a fairly loud sports exhaust before, just to ensure I won any pi$$ing contest amoungst the cars on a recent holiday (I won handsdown obviously).

I was arrested in switzerland and was within a whisker of having the car confiscated.Where as I thought large tunnels + rolling thunder = hilarity, the judge certainly didnt. After a decent fine,I was told to f off out of Switzerland and if the car ever returned I would be put in jail and the car impounded.

Okay,I just wont go back to Switzerland.
But now the city of Amsterdam has decided I can only drive the car between 9am and 6pm due to a number of complaints (I have been trying to drive it quietly,I really really have).

Can anyone point me in the direction of a system that I can have closed valves when required, then open up for the straight through roar, when conditions permit? I have heard of remote control systems on Murci's.Or can I keep my current exhaust, but modify it with the addition of these valves.I guess some cutting and welding would be required,no idea if that is a possibilty.

best regards to all

I'd simply avoid Switzerland and Holland rather than emasculate that V12 smile

Butterfly valves, dear boy, butterfly valves.

Straight thru pipes in a box that is big enough to act as a proper sound killer and just have the butterflies at the front of each and when closed the exhaust gases have to pass through the soundproofing medium... you get to go where you like how you like and you can open the old girl up in tunnels etc if you so wish.

I prefer to travel in silence myself, so have never really liked loud exhausts, tuneful yes, but loud no.

To me the sound of the old Healey 3000 Monte Carlo rally car was perfect, loudish [100db max!] but sung a chorus Puccini would have died for.

To this day it is the sound of a true sports car.

yeah I'll have to get a clip and post it before it gets 'neutered'

The band of swiss noise police technicians with their sophisticated sound measuring equipment got a reading or 107db at idle.

No idea what it is up through the revs ;-)

TBH I care not for loud exhaust dilemma. However, I do like the "ladies tonsil hockey team in the lambo" photo.

You must post more!!

Might need some pipe work depending on what you go for, but ought to do the trick nicely for acceptable cost?
