F430 F1 transmission safe mode?

Hi,

After using the car today the transmission appeared to be slipping the clutch much more than normal. They when I came to a stop and went to pull away in first, every time I accelerated a loud continual beep came from the dash (a bit like when you leave it in neutral when switching engine off sound).

It would only then crawl but after 5 minutes it appeared to go back to normal.

Anyone else experienced this if so what was the cause?
