Sleeping whilst driving that beast which you have? Tut Tut!!

You should be enjoying every second of it!

I did get a fine around 3/4 mnths ago but since then I've been seen by loads of coppers and not one bit of bofer wink

I love my black plates I'm trying to keep them until I drive to europe....

Plus I'm way to fast for the coppers anyway....tongue out

just a quick note about illegal plates.

when we went on the FB5K trip to europe, all the cars with illegal plates were pulled over at Folkestone.
however i was aware that was likely and simply blu tac'd the legal ones on top. removed them once i was on the train (didnt realise the others would have similar plates too!)

worth doing to avert unnecessary hassle

I am a bit partial to black plates also. What I've done in the past is to velcro the plates on and have a spare set in the boot. That way if I need to do something respectable (or if I'd rather not any unwanted attention from the BiB), it only takes a few seconds to switch them.

Did it when I took the Phaeton to the Ring, switched them at customs and back again as soon as we got on the train.

I though black plates are now a straight mot failure, and hence voids your insurance. Harsh, clearly, but knowing insurance companies they'll use any excuse.

I would guess they are, I'm sure you would have to be inventive if you were ever faced with that problem.???

Doesn't the car have to fail an MOT though? Isn't an MOT certificate valid until you have to have another one issued (either annually or at the behest of the BiB/VOSA etc).

We had this debate recently when i posted up that i had decatted my G. Some said it null and voided my insurance as it would fail the MOT. Some said it was scaremongering confused
