How do you tell the difference (on the exterior) between the 2? Just seen a very nice example of one of them not far from Euston road (9MOE) and was wondering how you tell which it was?!

Different headlights is a big one, and different wheels (but these are easy to change).

9MOE is a 575.

575 usually has a 575 badge on the back, 550 doesn't.
575 mostly paddle boxes, 550 all manual (Someone correct me on that?)

The 575 looks marginally longer doesn't it? (Or maybe a shorter bonnet/longer windscreen?)

No, the badge is a (quite rare) option. 550s are all manual, but a fair number of 575s are too.

Front grill is the best differentiator. 575's is small and rounder. Or the interior, which looks somewhat different.

As stated 9MOE is on a 575. I believe it was on a bblue, manual 575 earlier in the year and is currently on a black 575 F1.

Didn't see a badge if it had one but wasn't sure if there had been a facelift - obviously there has! Yes it was a black 575, I'm not a fan of (the looks of) 550/575s but looked very good indeed!

Hang on,a 348 owner,a slightly gay blue spider at that, is slagging off 575`s? Are you really sane or just delusional?
