Gallardo on track and noise
Discussion
I'm looking at the Superleggera to use on track but looks like the noise issue is a big one. A mate had his on at Donnington yesterday and it read 103db on the driveby. So a couple of questions. Has anyone found a solution that can be either easily removed or is switchable? I'm also interested to understand better the exhaust system. Does it use a bypass valve system that makes it louder. I've looked around but can't find a good explanation of how it works.
Cheers for any advice

shortshift past the pit lane noise meter....but do it subtly or they'll have you for sandbagging!
alternatively go on one of the days organised by the owners club, the noise restrictions seem to be slightly more relaxed then.
i say the above because i'd be loathe to compromise the aural pleasure of my car for a few days a year on track.

Agree, I wouldnt want to permanently change the sound, but hoped that the bypass valve system could be made switchable and kept closed at high rpm. Having spoken to one of the dealers, they tell me that it is possible to keep it open at low rpm but not to keep it closed at high rpm. The higher back pressure would cause damage.alternatively go on one of the days organised by the owners club, the noise restrictions seem to be slightly more relaxed then.

Sounds like its noisy days for me then...
I did find this though, the Kreis-sieg Valvetronic F1 exhaust system, very clever, but not cheap at $US6500...
