Annabelle and Roberto have a growing reputation for doing good work for their customers - a number of PistonHead folk use their services.

Although still a young geezer, Roberto cut his teeth with some of the best names in the business in terms of his years spent working with cars from Supercar Valley...

I'm sure you wont be disappointed ...

Small problem with the G recently. He knows his stuff and I will definately be returning for unscheduled maintanence, but would prefer the main dealer stamp in the book come selling time ....

Cheers chaps, just what I wanted to hear, I see he has a couple of Murcielagos on his picture's so hopefully he knows his stuff on these.

What is his pricing like? compared to main dealer.

I'm taking the Mas for a 30k service, new clutch and the engine timing that Nigelo recommended, in two weeks.

I'm fed up of paying ridiculous main dealer prices.

Will let you know how I go on.

Just a quick note to say I've just got my car back and am very pleased with the treatment I got from Roberto and Annabel.

I notice he had a Countach in there and about 4 Ferraris of different types.

Some people might think I'm mad to drive the 210 miles to Halstead and back but the savings against the main dealer's quote was well worth it.

As mentioned previously, I had the 30K service with cam belt, a new clutch and cam timing check.

If you're fairly local or don't mind driving your car then I'd highly recommend Grimaldi Engineering.

I know a couple of people who used him last year for Ferrari work and were very disapointed with them and their work, one guy was charged for work carried out and checked the so called replaced parts to find out they were still the parts that had been marked before the car went in for the work.

The guy is still thinking about the best way to deal with them as it was a rip off to the tune of £3k.

Not the best way to run your own company when relying on word of mouth.

WOW!! Just imagine the damage YOUR wallet will suffer should any of your unsubstantiated comments and innuendo prove to be inapplicable!
nono

Second-hand threats of action regarding some percieved overbilling and 'opinions' of how to run a company are also something best reserved for a place where you have definite evidence of the same.

Who are you trying to kid? 'Marking' parts to catch someone out implies intent to find fault where none may actually exist and as for the 'guy' who is 'still thinking' about some action re. the not-at-all likely and clearly just imagined rip off... please...

AMAZING!! I see that you've placed just 6 or 7 thread contributions so far in your not overly extensive PH 'career' and they have all been either quite inflammatory or just irrelevant and pointlessly niggling remarks...

Why do you have so little information about yourself on your PH profile - are you just here to cause trouble and distress? confused

Merry Christmas 'Mr.' Caddyman-Troll! furious

Not a troll at all and all what I say is fact and can be proven, I think the guy is just deciding the best action to take on them as it was a blatant attempt to con him of a large amount of money for work not carried out.

Is there a law on what has to go on a profile then "Mr God" as I thought it was optional if you wanted to put info in.

Did not think there was a time limit on how many posts you have to make either oh great one.

As for the other crap you have spouted I think you'll find that is how the fraud squad and trading standards catch these rip off merchants out by marking parts to see if they get replaced or not.

All I have done is replied with knowledge I have of the company and you seem to think you have the right to have a pop at me, no wonder I haven't posted that many replies with responses like that, very friendly you are for a so called "petrol head"

In fairness I don't see anything wrong with this. It merely implies a level of skepticism which in this day and age in the motor trade seems reasonably justifiable. If no fault exists the marked parts will be in the bin and no-one will have come to any harm. The only people who need to worry about it are fraudulent dealers and IMHO anyone charging for work not done deserves everything they get.

Don't suppose you'd had a couple of sherbets when you typed that, XVIII? It was late on a Friday night wobble

hehe

My point would have been that marking parts (which may well be how the TSO operate in certain circumstances - they ARE the relevant authority and nobody else) would seem to indicate that someone has been trying to have work done for nothing or that another 'project' is being pursued

Were these marked parts actually elements of the work requested? Was there a reason to do that based on any issues with any work that had been done by GE beforehand?

Or just a heap of trollish nonsense based on a number of possible irrelevant issues... or (more seriously and most probably) an attempt to ruin a good reputation before somebody starts losing business because of that growing reputation...

Not a genecoding piece of deduction - especially not in the throat-slicing world referred to.

and no, not a drop/grain of sherbet was consumed

I really can't see what your problem is here, the guy took his car there knowing nothing of the garage and needed to know 100% that his car would be in trusted hands so marked parts relavent to the work.

The guy can more than afford any bills but he isn't in that position by paying £3k bills for work that has not been done that he was told was done and charged for.

The bottom line is the GE tried to pull the guys pants down and got snagged, simple, so why the big fuss??

What the hell is all this crap your talking about, how does it indicate he is trying to get work done for nothing, all he's doing is making sure he's getting what he is paying for, and just as well by the looks of things.

To me it indicates that GE are trying to get paid for doing nothing!!

So what was wrong with the car, what parts did he mark, and if the parts were not replaced, surely the car still had the same fault that it had when it when into the garage?

I've used Roberto for my Lambo - good as gold. Others that I know (who have taken their Lambos there) have the same opinion of him.

I have not got a clue what parts were marked and it doesn't make any difference to me what so ever as I have not got a clue around engines, does it make any difference if I do know? not really does it, does not change the fact that parts were not replaced but charged for.

As people have had work done by them and it's been ok then the guy must be lying then as it couldn't possibly have happend could it.

You're surprising me here XVIII, I usually enjoy reading your posts smile

No-one's trying to get anything done for nothing, just making sure that when a garage says it's replaced x, y and z then x, y and z have indeed been replaced.

Donkeys years ago when I was a lad my Dad took his Austin Maxi to the main dealer to have the tailgate gas struts replaced under warranty. The job sheet showed new struts plus labour being billed back to the manufacturer. The tailgate was as droopy as a tart's knickers again within a couple of weeks. He took it back again and they fixed it again. They assured him they'd replaced the faulty (allegedly new) units. He took the service manager to the car and described the marks he'd made on the struts prior to bringing it back and invited him to explain how these marks were still there wink

You're suggesting he was wrong to do that?
