Why are so many of the Gallardo's up for sale at close to 80k when they are only worth low 70s. A LHD one sold at Joe Macari this week for ~£63k with 16kmiles on it. So RHD would be worth about 70-72k (trade would be about 65k i reckon). Yet even ones with 20k are up for £80k, as are some with only 6kmiles.

All the cars I'm talking about are early ones and most manual - although there doesn't seem to be too much difference anyway. A low mileage (6k i think) e-gear sold privately for 75k recently with 9month warranty.

Are people being greedy, is it a lot of SoR stuff up at the moment? i see a correction down by about 10k on a lot of stuff

I await slamming by Gallardo owners looking to sell... Sorry but someone had to say it.

Surely if they're all for sale at £80k then inherently they're worth £80k? confused

they are worth what someone will pay for them - as always. It's not *all*, just most

well here is Slamming No.1 wink

I haven't looked into the sale price of the G for a while. But I would say if alot of cars are up for sale @ £80ish K then you are right in reality they are probably worth mid 70's.

I think the reason cars with 6K and 20K miles are selling for a similar amount is whilst we are all attracted to low mileage car. Problems can exist even if your car has low mileage.

Firstly: the car may have had some techie guy sit in it and wind the clock back wink

2ndly: and probably more important a car that has been sat around isn't always going to be in the best shape.

Are people being greedy I don't know but due to the huge amount people loose on cars (especially when they finance them) they will attempt to get the highest possible price.

But as long as people keep paying £80k for these cars then they are worth it.....to someone at least

I paid 81250 for mine in late september its covered 8500 miles.I was worryed that there would be a lot for sale during the winter for less than i paid but so far the only cheap ones i have seen have been cars in less desirable colours and in less than mint condition.I am hoping that it is still worth high 70's at the end of next summer as i would like to change it for a 06 model. What do you think.

Bumped into a guy in Manchester yesterday (I went to Lambo Manchester (Stockport actually!) to show my son the Gallardos - unfortunately the plac was closed!).

Anyway, this bloke reckoned he had come across a RHD G in yellow in Hull for low 60s!! Must have had some dodgy history for that money.

Not sure which car i will get yet although it will probably be an 06 Gallardo or a Ferrari 430 just depends on values next spring iam hoping to get one of those for around 70k i did think about a BMW CSL as my brother had one last year and we both thought it was great, however it just cant compete with the lambo or ferrari for looks, sound etc (thats my opinion only, dont want this to go the way many other threads have on here).I have been quite lucky with my sale realy because although i have a deposit on my car the man whos buying it doesnt want it till jan 09 so i now have a depreciation proof Gallardo till next year.If you or any one else has any ideas on my future car iwould like to hear them.

Lucky man.....G is hard car to beat.....I'm not a F man but the F430 is a good car....I don't know what else to suggest maybe a 911 Turbo? or a newish R8....Not much available without spending mega money (which is not advisable right now imo)

I'm considering Aston Martin or M5 really and probably will go for the M5 did briefly consider M3 CSL but wife doesn't really like them.

The 997 turbo is a seriously good car but not as much of an adrenaline rush as a Gallardo. The F430 is superb and has a very different feel to the Lambo and well worth trying one out as they are very good value now. If you are looking at minimising depreciation the 997 GT3 seems to be a good bet due to the low numbers built. I've not personally driven one but only heard good things about them.
