Guys,

Given the choice between an 04 6k mile CGT and an 06 1K mile Koenigsegg CCR - what would YOU choose and why?

I would choose the Koenigsegg because the CGT scares the shit out of me. And doesnt handle too well in traffic. Howver never tried the K so it might be just as bad.

Can you please elaborate???....are CCR's that much inferior to CCX's?? (especially if they have been upgraded to CCX spec engines etc?).or is it just K's in general your contact was referring to?

A testdrive would probably make your mind up Darren (Will somebody lend me a Koenigsegg , please )

BUT , trying to rationalise it ... CGT prices seem to be stable . Yes it's out of warranty , but it's a Porsche. What would I rather be out of warranty with , a Porsche CGT or a Koenigsegg (when it's time comes) . Hmm.

CGT production stopped , pinnacle of Porsche ownership and a million Porsche drivers pre-programmed to aspire to a CGT will never stop demand being high . Difficult to drive, yes . Challenge to learn - definately . Bored of overnight , doubt it.

Koenigsegg anytime... not many around and more wow factor too.. even that wealthy guy from the aviation business who was on top gear with just about every supercar in his fleet has 2 and declared the eggs were his favourite cars from the lot.... if you fancy something differant and more power to weight than a veyron, then the egg is your best bet...

I think I'd want the 'egg.
I think they look incredible, the interior looks really nice.
They seem a bit more 'hyper' to me as well. As nice as the CGT is, I think the 'egg is just a little more out there.
Also, you can't imagine getting the same service from Porsche as you (apparently) would from Koenigsegg.
Peter Seywell said they'll pop someone on a charter jet asap to get the car sorted if any problems arise. smile
Bloody hard choice mind, but I think the 'egg just swings it.

Bloody difficult choice to make (albeit a bloody amazing position to be in ;-) )....but I'd have to swing towards the Koenigsegg.

CGT is amazing no doubt, but Koenigsegg is a...Koenigsegg! lol, It has more sense of occasion than the CGT (and the CGT is no party pooper!)...

However, I haven't driven either, nor have I even sat in them (only seen them!) so your may disregard my opinion if you wish!

Tough one. 'seggs are amazing cars no doubt, and to me are absolutely beautiful, each a work of art.

Porsche have been making cars for a hell of a long time and have unquestionably more pedigree. Not as pretty to my eyes, but certainly a triumph of engineering.

Haven't driven both, or indeed either of them, and likely never will.
If I was looking for a short term car that I wouldn't be keeping for more than a couple of years, I'd buy a 'segg. If I wanted a car I knew would be reliable to the end, that would make a more sensible long term investment, it'd be the CGT.

Heart: 'segg
Head: CGT.

Either would be lovely though biggrin

It misses the point of the question by a mile. He asked if you would take a Koenigsegg or a Carrera GT

Well, at MPH there were a couple of CGTs and Koenigseggs. I didn't take any pics at all of the Porsches as they are so common whereas the 'egg has more wow factor.

But as has been said before, if you are keeping it for a long time than the CGT may be the wiser choice.

Drive both for at least half an hour before even trying to sus out which way to go. They are very very different cars.

The K is a fantastic car but the drive is very 'marmite' and I prefer klemmen on my toast wink
