Toying with the idea of buying an early Murci - maybe 2002. What do you reckon is a realistic price for one of these at the moment? Noticed one or two with highish miles...30,000+. Is this a big problem and does it have a massive effect on value?
Any views or opinions appreciated.

They'll take big miles , big brute of a v12 engine . Shocks , brakes, clutches, anciliaries probably not so .

Resale not too favourable on higher mileage cars. Camtune had a higher mileage Murcie for ages , even though it'd had a load of money spent on an engine rebuild and was probably technically sound

Keep to a lower mileage , desirable colour and your life will be a load easier

If you've never had an Italian 12 cylinder car before you are in for a treat.

Despite all the "worry mongering" you are probably as likely to get big bills with the smaller engined Ferraris and Lamborghini's but only half the rewards.

Like all cars its down to how you buy it, buy it well, with good history, lowest miles as possible and with a warranty, also unlike the UK's trip to Iraq plan your way in, your time there/in ownership and most importantly have an exit plan.

I know a guy in Yorkshire who deals in these cars and has recently bought one into stock.

He is very fastidious and is currently preparing it for sale so has not advertised it yet, check hin out at Darren Brocklehurst Sports Cars, you could beat the rush.

Murcielago's for Gallardo money always makes sence in my book but to be honest they are too much for most people, there aren't many people out there that drive these and know how to wring its neck hence they have rarely been raced and rallied enough to wear them out.

The usual problems are insufficient or inapropriate maintenance.

Good luck

It will be as expensive to run as any exotica, you aint gonna get a free ride thats for sure!! Rather than an '02 with high miles, I personally think a newer car with fewer miles is the way to go with a Murci - an easier life IMO.
