HELP....

My remote fob has stopped working. I have a grey key no idea what it is for. How do I get in with out the alarm going off?

What model year? What is this grey key thingy? I haven't got one of those, just two keys that look identical.

I can tell you how to re-sync a key with an MY08 car because the fob came apart in my pocket a couple of days ago, and the battery in it got disconnected. I had to get LL to explain the procedure to me over the phone while I was hopping about and getting grumpy in some freezing car-park.

Anyway, this is what worked for me:

- Remove the frontmost bit of plastic from the driver's door-handle to expose the door lock. Do this carefully so as not to snap the little latches on the bit of plastic that hold it on.

- Unlock the car with the ignition key (at which point the alarm goes off, and passing youths stop and congregate to offer practical TWOCing advice which further compounds the irritation).

- Hold in the unlock button on the fob.

- Still holding in the unlock button, put the key in the ignition lock and start car (and the alarm stops wailing to applause from the mob which then disperses).

- Key is now re-sync'd and Robert is your avuncular relative.

HTH.

battery may have gone flat, or the key may need resetting which needs a laptop (will need to go to a lambo garage) or the way above
