Hi guys,

Had my first ride in a Ferrari yesterday in the Lincolnshire wilderness and it happened to be my all time favourite - a red tubi'd F355, and it was a truly epic experience! It has motivated me even more to save every penny so I can personally enjoy this feeling whenever I want!
You guys are very very very lucky to be fortunate to own one of these fine Italian beasts.

I thought I would share a short video that I took; the roads were relatively empty and the cars capabilities were certainly tested. The sound the standard car produces is spine tingling let alone a tubi'd version and it was an unforgettable experience.

Now I need a ride in a Lambo..... Any offers? lol

Just wondering what the first Fcar/Lambo you had the privilege of passengering in? I would love to hear your experiences..

Hope you had a cracking Christmas and wishing you a prosperous new year!

Thanks for looking

Adam

I agree with you - the F355 is the best of the lot and getting very affordable now. I would have bought one this year but decided to buy a house and get on the property ladder.

I hope to have either a 348 or an F355 in the next 2 years ( deadline is Nov 2010 before I'm 30 )

My mate who I work with has a 360 and previous to that had an F355 with a Capristo exhaust which we would go out in all the time if we were board at work.

I've owned and driven lots of expensive / fast cars but nothing has the same feeling as a Ferrari.

Keep saving your pennies and it'll come !!!

I'll have to make do with a VX220 Turbo in the mean time

Ditto. Nearly put it in a ditch about 30 meters from where I started as the pedals were off centre, IIRC.

Did you not rate the 348 experiance very highly then ? obviously its not going to be like a Gallardo ?

first 'Rari i passengered in was a 328 GTS, wonderful little machines, though perhaps not best suited to tall people though!
i've been out in an F430 too and that was unbelieveable, these cars assault the senses like no other!
if your after passenger rides in Lambo's, Ferrari's and other classics/exotica be sure to check these guys out and do a few "Dream Rides" for charity! - http://www.sportingbears.org.uk/

No, not at all. I like the looks and the sensation of it being a Ferrari (the sound, the tingling spine etc) but the seats were hard, the driving position uncomfortable and generally, it wasnt as good as I had hoped or dreamed. Often, these things never are.

Not long after, I spent some considerable time in a 550.....now that was exactly as I had imagined and it rekindled my passion. The later Ferrari's I've driven, generally, have also been up to expectations - the 360 F1 Spider was a dream.

My first Ferrari experience was a test drive of a 355. My second experience was reversing one off the trasporter and onto the drive a few weeks later when it was delivered. A whole year later and its still a thrill smile

I bet!! You are a lucky chap, I knew I wanted one even before I had a ride and now it's a sure thing! How long are you planning on keeping it for? Any plans to upgrade?

Not sure about upgrading. I like the look of black/crema 360 Spider but don't have the same "desire" for one as I did for a red 355. My 355 is a Berlinetta, manual, rosso/crema, challenge grill with tubi & decat exhaust so is exactly what I wanted. No plans to sell until the thrill of owning it wears off. smile

To be perfectly honest that is the perfect combo especially with the challenge grill! The 360 is much more common than the F355 and the big appeal for me, is the sound the car makes and the 360 is quite soft in comparison.
Do you have any vids of yours with the tubi & decat? I would love to hear it, I bet it is spine tingling!!
I Can't imagine that the thrill will ever wear off, after boosting through the country roads yesterday with the sound of the tubi exhaust at full pelt was phenomenal. Now can appreciate what it is like to own one of these beauties!!

Like the OP, my first ride in a Ferrari was the F355; nothing prepared me for the sheer soundtrack and the passion of the Prancing Horse. I was mesimered by the traditional 'chunk' of the gearbox lever slotting into the metal gate. Magic. I later got rides in 360, 456, 550, 575, F50 and Enzo.

My most memorable ride is possibly the McLaren F1 roadcar and the Porsche Carrera GT. XJ220 was awesome despite its somewhat compromised specification. Amongst at least 90 supercars ridden and driven.

In any case, happy new year and many good wishes for a prosperous period.

Your Vauxhall will be so so very close on performance and cost a fraction of the cost of the Ferrari to run but you just want one regardless. I know the feeling well smile

The F355 has pop up headlights.... Nuff said! My first drive was a test drive in a blue F355 F1, was suprised how tame it felt in regards the rate the speedo went up. Didn't like the paddle shift though, so bought a beautiful yellow F355 Spider with a manual! Im in the sheffield area if you're ever wanting a second 355 experience!

Seems quite a few had a 355 as their 'first'.

So, how long did it take you to figure out how to open the door? paperbag

Luckily I was shown before I first had a ride in one, but it was funny when I went to pick up the missus for the first time, watching her struggle... mind you, she still struggled when I told her where it was! The its the same story when getting back out
