Saw this in General Gassing, should we have a whip round and burn it?

Usually when I see Lambo-like kit cars, I just ask myself and anybody who might be listening/reading:

Why do people expend so much effort in making a replica and presumably using a decent engine in what should be a decent chassis and with a decent set of brakes, interior bits and so on...
and then go on to clone an only slightly accurate bit of bodywork on their creations?

It's intended to be a gentle admonishment and a not too stern sounding nudge towards helping the builder / vendor to move onwards and upwards in some way.

That is, my "usually" response but in this instance - YES! let's have a burning and not of the car (it's not its fault!) but the owner / builder. The car is a sinful mess and a disgrace to just about every bit of the ideas of 'quality' and 'style' and 'anyruddythingdecentyoucanthinkof'

Surely that site is not genuine? There's not one image of a finished car they've produced on there!

Agree with you entirely. I have had several "debates" with people over these sorts of "replicas". The only point of the (IMO) is to pretend to have something you don't. Quite sad. I can't afford a Lambo (yet), my only experience has been my brother's Diablo. I'm considering building a kit, but it will be an Ultima or similar, a great car not pretending to be something else.
This one in particular is dire, while I have some admiration for the PD "Lambo's", a beetle based imitation is just... yes BURN IT, please before someone else buys it thumbup

Ultima - it's the ruddy possibilities when building them that are so devastating - I know of one in Scotland with a verybignutsindeed engine which makes about a million horse power and I know that the owner has a local-ish rival/buddy with yet another Ultima with an even bigger engine and a horsepower figure more akin to a Saturn V at lift-off!

... now that's how to build your own car!

I still think the vendor of the 'car' advertised here should be burnt - maybe the car itself could be preserved as a clear example of just how very wrong they are!
