Lamborghini LM002
Discussion
There weren't any rhd LM002's built at Sant'Agata - I'd be very surprised if there are any that have been converted - why would you want to do that?
I've seen some images from a LCCG meeting in Germany last year which featured 7 LM's at
www.lccg.de
click on the button marked Treffen and then the button marked 1 and there they should be... that's the German Lamborghini classic club and is unlike ILOC (the International Lamborghini Owners Club) which mostly features newer Lamborghinis (Diablo and after) and also has members in countries as far away from Germany as, er, Luxembourg, Belgium and Holland...
As regards the interior of these cars - that 'M' in LM002 stands for 'Military' so they could have been far worse - check out the 'seating' space behind the front four seats for an idea of what the interior could have been like!!

I would also dearly, DEARLY, love to own one of these - especially a black one.
Trouble is I have been talked out of pulling the trigger on one, on more than three occasions - by people who know what they are talking about! i.e - "get a f$@*ing grip - you are about to buy a money pit!"
In fairness if you get a mint one and limit the mileage you can run one quite cheaply...BUT.....IF something goes wrong, be prepared to have it off the road for a LONG time and be forking out lots of cash.
I've heard of cars that need £40-50k spending on them to make them roadworthy. Many parts aren't available - especially suspension, driveline and body/chassis parts - nor are the bespoke Pirelli tyres. Many parts have to be made from scratch - i.e fabricated or machined as one-offs.
So whilst I'd love one, and my heart still hankers, my head says stay away!
Be careful out there!

There is one that lives in Virginia water, sounds wonderful but would hate to fuel the monster!

this is looking more and more impossible
if a tire goes, then what? look at it?
the idea sounds good but this car needs to be driven
are there not any other tires out there that fit the orginal rims?, or has anyone ever added aftermarket rims to them?
although not ghastly ''baller'' rims
off topic but has any of the sultan of brunie's bentley 4x4 dominators come onto the market? or does he still own all of them, id love to see what price they would fetch on the open market, i have Richard Feasts Kidnap of the Flying Lady and he stated that it cost the sultan £1 million per car :S whether its true or not i dont no but they do look very nice, although very OTT

Lambo HW had one for sale on their website for months, it was removed last week (presume sold) - bugger!
That car went through Bonhams Olympia - around £50k I think. Didn't sell with LHW, and failed to sell with Bonhams the first time it went through. It was a Gumball car so had a reputation - perhaps unfair, as LHW had done a lot of work to it when it got back.I've spent some quality time with one of these - not exactly reliable, hugely expensive on parts (and hard to get), tyres are made in batches irregularly and once they're gone, that's it until the next batch.
Having said all that - they've been at £50k for at least 5 years (residuals therefore not too bad), and they do have road presence....
Feel free to PM me if you'd like further guidance.

Pirelli Scorpions ARE still available but as ever, only eventually - like most Pirelli tyres they usually cost plenty but not £1500 each - that's just some more Clarksonian merde de vache as ever - his lingering idiocy has a certain irremovable stench much like the cheap cigarettes he smokes.if a tire goes, then what? look at it?

There are other tyres that fit the LM002 although they are less than great by comparison, apparently...
Why would you want to fit any other kind of wheel? Dressing 'em with rims and other bling is just very, very chav-o-matic unless you have a great history ahead of you as a rap legend soon to be in the throws of your sub two weeks of career.
EVERY Lamborghini needs, wants, demands to be driven - even LM002's. Fuel doesn't vanish too quickly unless your really think 9 miles to the gallon (in gentle use) is too much - some LM002's have 100 gallon tanks, they all have carburettors as far as I know and so could be easily run on LPG, probably (don't quote me!)
Re. spinny shiny wheels: NO Lamborghini deserves being dressed up like some 5$ho - especially not an LM002!!
Good luck with your hunt - your Lamborghini is waiting for you - join LCUK and then you'll really get the feel for 'em!
Last time I checked, there were 2 black ones for sale here in Belgium. Both around the 75.000EU mark (56.000£
I've seen LM's with other wheels & tyres on them. With the abundance of powerful SUVs these days, you shouldn't have an issue finding a tyre that supports the power. All that remains is finding a wheel to fit the car... I'd personally store the OEM wheels with Pirelli Scorpion and put on something else...
If you want me to have a look around, i can find the LM's here for you...
