Aplogies in advance for long post..thinking of visiting Maranello, Lambo, Pagani etc as part of summer hols & would appreciate some feedback from those who have been before or holiday in Italy, especially re a favoured route, must do passes, weather & nice resorts etc. Not on a super car owners budget, nearer to Logis rather than Relais & Chateaux biggrin

Looking at 2 weeks in either late June or early September. Can I expect decent weather? Will some passes be closed in September?

Want to include the Italian lakes but not sure which, ideally looking for a resort within walking distance of a pretty town with decent restaurants & bars, not too quiet, something similar to St Maxime, Villefrance Sur Mer in France.

Are Modena & Verona worth a visit?. Anyone been to the beach resort of Forte Dei Marmi? May well stop at different lake on the way back.
Cross posting this in the Italy forum too
Thanks for your help

I was in a wee town called Varenna on Lake Como this weekend:

fantastic place - nice small old-school italian village, couple of great bars/restaurants, picture-postcard views at every angle, boat trips down the lake etc...absolutely fantastic..couple of pics below. Mate has a new flat there which he'll be renting out by summer...drop me a mail if you want details..

Thanks for the plug Greig!

Flat will be available for rent. 1 large double and a single bedroom. All mod cons. Magnificent views (as you can tell) from both living room and bedrooms. 3 balconies. Pool. Parking. Maranello 3.5 hours from Varenna. Clooney not visible.hehe

PM me if you want details/costs.

Como is the easily the most beautiful of all The Italian Lakes.

Heaven on Earth!
