Lamborghini Urraco - So beautiful, so underrated
Discussion
I was driving on the M40 today and caught a wonderful sight in my rear view mirror - a red Lamborghini Urraco! Firstly, i must say that this is the first time I have ever accidently stumbled across one of these on the road by chance (ie. excluding planned car shows, friend' cars etc). Just looking at it through my rear view mirror, i realised that actually this car is so damn stylish, so exotic, so classy and so understated. The lines are so gorgeously Italian and really rather mouth-watering!
I have always loved the Urraco and have been lucky enough to get close to them in the past as my very good friend has a stunning red one as well. Sometimes you can look at a shape so much and love it, but then you see another angle or you see the car in a different location and it can look different. Not at all in a bad way, but different. Its very hard to explain, but I let the Urraco pass me and sat there in awe as this car glided by. Its sheer beauty stands out so much amongst the asexual car shapes around it and it truly makes you realise that so few cars are still designed from passion like this.
I think that the Lamborghini Urraco is just about the most underrated, under-valued, under-recognised exotic Italian sports car around. These cars are getting so rare and it made my day to see this one as a surprise on the motorway.

Leslie - I am going to fetch you a firm clout!... That first shot of your car will be appearing somewhere else very soon!!
The red Urraco 300 in DM's pic belonged to a Club Member who has a Silhouette now... Lamborghini V8s are very, very addictive!
(boring old f. warning!) having driven a few Urracos and a Silhouette now, I'd say that there is no real comparison with anything else - the 3.0 litre V8 in particular is a broad shouldered and amiable pal and wants to be the driver's pal - recommended, always (b. o. f. warning off!)
I drove DS's silver 300 to Gaydon in 2006 for the Auto Italia meeting whilst he led / followed in his Countach... he said, when we paused for a pause at a pausing place on the M40 that he still thinks the Urraco has more 'prescence' on the road that many other cars. Mind you, we'd just been in company with another Members very, very orange and exceedingly original P250 so we were all blinded, not to mention er, blinded (1970's orange Lamborghinis are always eyeball-searingly bright!)

Now look at those fabulous lines - so stylish in their simplicity. Its this type of design that truly makes this car a classic and just look at that wonderful stance on the road.
Leslie/ as always, your Urraco is looking just stunning. Cant wait to see it after all the work is completed.
