Wonder if anyone can help are the exhausts from the 4200 Coupe and Spyder the same ? Would an exhaust from a Coupe fit a Spyder ? Also is there any difference in the exhaust system from a CC to a manual ?

I can't see why there would be and think they should be identical but just want to check.

Thanks

Don't know - can the eurospares website give any help? I can't be bothered to compare all the part numbers as I've not had brekkie yet.

I do have a couple of cats from an 03 spyder in the garage if you wanted to open them up and make it a straight thru....

Just got around to checking on Eurospares and it would seem that they are not compatible....

Think I am going to have to call someone and check. When you click the will this fit my car on either model it does not list the other.

Surely they cannot be different though ?

Isn't the spyder quite a bit shorter than the coupe though? (Coupe is a 4 seater, the Spyder is a 2 seater)

Yes you are right.

Coupe Spyder
Overall length 4526 mm / 178.07 in 4303 mm / 169.4 in
Overall height 1,822 mm / 71.7 in 1,822 mm / 71.7 in
Overall width 1,305 mm / 51.4 in 1,305 mm / 51.4 in
Wheelbase 2661 mm / 104.7 in 2,440 mm / 96.1 in
Front Track 1,525 mm / 60.0 in 1,525 mm / 60.0 in
Rear Track 1,527 mm / 60.1 in 1,538 mm / 60.6 in
Curb weight 1678 kg / 3678 lbs 1,730 kg / 3792 lbs

Don't know why I didn't think it might be shorter..... when I guess somewhere I probably knew it was. So the centre pipes are probably different. Wonder about the silencers though. Going to have to call someone who will know for certain.

Why not ask tubi or other 3rd party exhaust folks if the back boxes are different for a coupe/spyder?

The back boxes ARE the same - it is the "extensions" that are different to allow for the different length between the 2 models.

If Mr Field had entered part # 184815 or 184816 (Left and Right back boxes) on Eurospares and then tried "Will this fit my car?.." he would find it does indeed list both Coupe and Spider for each. The extensions will not cross match because they ARE different.

hope this helps

Thanks Nigelo that answers my question and you are right the 'will this fit' link does indeed explain the silencers are identical whereas the centre pieces are not.
