Do you chaps think the charge will impact London supercar sales?

Nope. My guess would be that lots of the guys using supercars to commute would be in earl enough and leave late enough to miss the charge....or not care too much as soon enough, fuel will be £25/gallon. hehe

What a total waste, driving a supercar through London. I cant imagine its the nicest of places to drive through anyway, let alone in an exotic.

It's fun to watch the reaction of scrotes in shitboxes when their girlfriends LOOK. And they ALL look.

I suppose there is that side to it, but are you not worried about cooking the clutch when you only get to slip it to move a few yards at a time?

Another potential £6500/yr is peanuts for many supercar owners, so no, I cannot see it impacting sales at all.

So, SO true! smile

The number of times I've passed couples and the girl has been turned around looking over while the sad, boring BF is trying to drag her away.... :P I jsut think "someone wants a more exciting life than she's being offered!"

As for the £25... I know this isn't really the place but Ken is clearly an irrational obsessive who has totally lost all touch with realit. He has completely surrounded himself with yes men and hemp clad hippies and as a non-driver has no grip on the reality of life for over 80% of the British public!

You do not have to pay the charge on weekends, English public holidays, designated non-charging days, or between 18:00 and 07:00.
All charging days that fall between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day inclusive are designated non-charging days.

...and these are exactly the times when I'm not working/catching the train to work

a
Quite right, the irony of applying the charge to people who need to come into the capital to work, rather than try to persuade shoppers, theatre goers, diners etc from bringing their cars in for leisure purposes in the evening, bank hols and weekends is obviously lost on Red Ken's idiots.

Can't wait for Boris to take up the post. Does he still have the G Spyder?

Why is it a total waste?
I really can't understand where people come up with these crap statements

Over the years I've diven to work in London I've used:
VW Polo
VW Golf
Saab900
Ford Focus
Saab9000
BMW 330
BMW 530
Merc C230
Merc E200
BMW X5
Volvo XC90
Ferrari 360 spider
Lamborghini Gallardo spyder
Ferrari430

Now I know it's a bit close, but somehow I really do prefer driving the Ferrari/Lamborghini to commuting in the Polo

Personally I dont get how you cope with all the traffic down there, I rarely get stuck in any jams, but when I do its so frustrating and stressful. Even more so if I were stuck in a supercar. I'd much rather be in something smaller engined and easier to drive. All that power is crying out to be released and you just cant! In which case I'd rather be in a nice comfy quiet seat.

Roof off, sunny day driving into london is fine, rainy day, roof on leather seated comfort good too smile more convinient and nicer than public transport anyday.

Ok, I'm beaten on this one. I still think the horsepower is considerably wasted, But I'll admit the 355 is a much nicer place to be than the Cougar. And yes I do have the spider one, so the roof can be down. I think it was just from a bad experience that the only time Ive been stuck in traffic in the Ferrari was on a cold, dark winter night with a terrential downpour.

So what about when you do get up to speed and you start aqua-planing? I had a bad experience with that too!
